HUDCO's June quarter profit up by 14.3%

New Delhi, August 6, 2025 — Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd. (NSE: HUDCO | BSE: 540530) has reported a 14.3% YoY rise in standalone net profit to ₹630.23 crore for Q1FY26, backed by robust interest income and cost controls, the company said. The board also declared an interim dividend of ₹1.15 per share for the financial year 2025–26.
Key Financial Highlights (Standalone)
- HUDCO reported a solid performance in Q1FY26. The company’s interest income rose to ₹2,924.64 crore. This marks a 34.5% year-on-year (YoY) increase. It is a 3.7% sequential growth from Q4FY25.
- Total income stood at ₹2,945.47 crore. This is up 34% YoY. It is 3.2% higher than the previous quarter.
- Finance expenses rose to ₹1,976.31 crore, reflecting a 35% increase YoY and a 6.3% jump QoQ.
- Total expenses increased to ₹2,088.24 crore. This is up 38.1% YoY and 13.8% QoQ, indicating rising operating costs alongside growth in business activity.
- Profit before tax (PBT) came in at ₹857.23 crore. This is a 25.2% increase YoY. It declined 16% sequentially compared to Q4FY25.
- Profit after tax (PAT) stood at ₹630.23 crore, reflecting a 13% YoY growth. This is down 13.4% QoQ.
- Earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter were reported at ₹3.15. This is up from ₹2.79 in Q1FY25. But this is lower than ₹3.64 in the previous quarter.
HUDCO’s net profit moderated sequentially due to a higher tax outgo and a notional loss of ₹111.21 crore on fair value changes.
Dividend Declaration
HUDCO has declared an interim dividend of ₹1.15 per share (11.5% on the face value of ₹10), with the record date set for August 14, 2025. The payout is expected to be completed within 30 days of the declaration date.
Additional Regulatory Disclosures
- HUDCO raised ₹5,370 crore via non-convertible debt securities in Q1, fully utilized as per stated objectives.
- Maintained a Debt-to-Equity Ratio of 6.61, with Net Worth at ₹17,655.92 crore as on June 30, 2025.
- Gross Credit-Impaired Assets reduced to 1.34% from 2.42% YoY.
- CRAR stood at 41.72%, maintaining strong capital adequacy.
Corporate Governance & Auditor Update
The board has proposed the appointment of M/s VAP & Associates as Secretarial Auditor for FY26–FY30, subject to shareholder approval.
Consolidated Performance
The consolidated net profit was also ₹630.23 crore, as the only associate (Shristi Urban Infrastructure) reported a negligible loss share of ₹0.01 lakh. Total consolidated income stood at ₹2,945.47 crore, mirroring standalone performance.
HUDCO Stock Performance
HUDCO shares closed at ₹211.65, which is a 3.24% dip on August 6, 2025. HUDCO shares have dipped 25% in the last year, 11% in the year-to-date, and 6.90% in the previous month. Shares of Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) opened at ₹218.75 on Wednesday and touched an intraday high of ₹219.02. At current levels, HUDCO is trading well below its 52-week high of ₹312.90, though still comfortably above the 52-week low of ₹158.85. It has a market capitalisation of around ₹42,450 crore.
