Mumbai, March 30: Enviro Infra Engineers Limited has secured a ₹664.33 crore order from NTPC Limited for battery energy storage system projects, marking a notable step into grid-scale storage execution.

The award covers two geographically distinct but strategically linked sites – Kudgi in Karnataka and Ramagundam in Telangana, the company said in an exchange filing. Both are established thermal power locations where storage integration is increasingly becoming relevant for balancing supply.

The contract is structured as an EPC package. That means Enviro Infra will handle the full chain. Engineering design, procurement of systems, on-ground construction, and commissioning.

Once the systems are operational and tested, the company remains tied to the asset for 11 years under a comprehensive maintenance arrangement.

Stock Market Snapshot

Enviro Infra Engineers share price edged higher after the disclosure, rising 2.33% to ₹141.21 as of 11:38 am IST on March 30, 2026.

The session itself was not linear. The stock opened firm at ₹143.13, moved up to ₹146.90, then cooled off toward ₹140 levels before stabilising. That pattern often reflects early enthusiasm followed by profit booking.

Still, the underlying tone remained positive. The Enviro Infra Engineers share price is reacting less to the headline number alone and more to what sits underneath. Execution visibility and a long maintenance tail.

In mid-sized EPC names, that combination tends to matter more than one-off order wins.

From Water Infra To Energy Transition Alignment

Enviro Infra Engineers has built its base in water and environmental infrastructure. Treatment plants, sewage systems, industrial solutions. Segments that offer steady but often fragmented growth.

Battery energy storage sits at the intersection of power infrastructure and clean energy transition. As renewable capacity expands, storage is no longer optional. It is becoming essential for grid stability.

By entering BESS through NTPC-backed projects, the company is not experimenting at the margins. It is stepping into a segment with institutional demand and policy backing.

Order Structure Provides Both Near And Long-Term Visibility

At ₹664.33 crore, the order is sizeable in absolute terms. But its structure arguably carries more weight than its value.

The EPC portion is expected to be executed within 18 months. This supports near-term revenue recognition. Then comes the second layer. Eleven years of maintenance. That extends the revenue arc well beyond project completion and adds a service component that is typically more stable.

The NTPC association also adds a layer of counterparty comfort, as reflected in exchange disclosures.

Overall, the development points to a gradual repositioning. From conventional infrastructure execution towards opportunities linked with the evolving energy ecosystem.
