Mumbai, 13 October 2025: Shares of Tata Capital Limited made a measured debut on the NSE on Monday, opening at ₹330 per share, representing a modest 1.2% premium over the IPO issue price of ₹326. The IPO, which garnered significant interest, was subscribed 1.96 times overall, with strong participation from institutional investors.
Steady Listing Performance Marks Tata Capital’s Market Debut with ₹1,458 Crore Traded Value
Following its listing, Tata Capital’s stock traded between ₹327.20 and ₹332, recording a Volume Weighted Average Price (VWAP) of ₹329.94 in early sessions. The stock opened at ₹330 and saw traded volumes of 441.92 lakh shares, amounting to a total traded value of ₹1,458 crore. As of 10:02 a.m., shares were trading at ₹327.90, reflecting a market capitalisation of roughly ₹1.39 lakh crore, signalling a stable market entry for the Tata Group’s financial services arm.
Tata Capital Anchor Investor Backing Generates ₹4,641.82 Crore Ahead of Public Subscription
Prior to the public subscription, Tata Capital successfully raised ₹4,641.82 crore from anchor investors on 3 October 2025, through the allotment of 14.24 crore shares at ₹326 per share. Leading domestic anchors included LIC, HDFC Mutual Fund, ICICI Prudential MF, Aditya Birla Sun Life MF, Nippon India MF, and Motilal Oswal MF. Major global institutions such as Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Nomura India Investment Fund, and the Government Pension Fund Global (Norway) also participated, underlining institutional confidence and laying a strong foundation for the IPO’s successful listing.
Tata Capital IPO Subscription Highlights Robust Demand Across Investor Categories
The IPO, open from 6 October to 8 October 2025, witnessed strong uptake across categories. Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) 3.42×, Non-Institutional Investors (NIIs) 1.98×, Retail Individual Investors (RIIs) 1.10×, and Employees 2.92×, resulting in an overall subscription of 1.95×. The offer consisted of a fresh issue of 21 crore shares and an Offer for Sale (OFS) of 26.58 crore shares, aggregating to 47.58 crore equity shares, demonstrating broad-based participation and an efficient capital mobilisation strategy.
Tata Capital’s FY25 Financial Performance Underpins IPO Strength
Tata Capital Limited, headquartered in Mumbai and a subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd., operates in the financial services sector, offering retail, SME, and corporate financing solutions. For FY25, the company reported a profit after tax (PAT) of ₹3,664.66 crore on total income of ₹28,369.87 crore, with a return on equity (ROE) of 12.6% and a gross non-performing assets (NPA) ratio of 1.9%.
