Avenue Supermarts Q2FY26 Net Profit Rises 5.1% at ₹747 Crore; Opens Eight New DMart Stores

Mumbai, October 13, 2025: Avenue Supermarts Ltd (NSE: DMART, BSE: 540376), owner of the supermarket chain DMart, reported 5.1% year-on-year growth in standalone net profit to ₹747 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2025 (Q2FY26). The growth accompanied a satisfactory 15.4% increase in total revenue to ₹16,219 crore for the quarter.
Avenue Supermarts Ltd, having its corporate office at Mumbai, runs DMart, India’s largest supermarket chain with a variety of home and personal care products. It had 432 stores across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, NCR, Uttar Pradesh, and other states as of September 30, 2025, across a total business area of 17.9 million square feet of retail space.
Strong Revenue Growth and Marginal Profit Expansion
Robust top-line growth reflected sustained demand across the company’s key product categories. On a quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) basis, EBITDA rose to ₹1,230 crore, marking an 11.3% increase from ₹1,105 crore in Q2FY25, while the EBITDA margin remained steady at 7.6%. Profit after tax (PAT) also grew to ₹747 crore, up from ₹710 crore in the same period last year, with the PAT margin maintained at 4.6%. Basic earnings per share (EPS) improved 5% to ₹11.47, reflecting consistent operational performance.
H1FY26 Performance Snapshot
Revenues of Avenue Supermarts stood at ₹32,151 crore in H1FY26, 15.8% more than ₹27,762 crore in H1FY25. Net profit during the period was up by 3.5% at ₹1,576 crore, and EBITDA increased 9.3% at ₹2,543 crore. The company attributed the growth to operational excellence, consistent productivity at stores, and wise expansion in newer geographies.
Consolidated Results and Margins
On a consolidated basis, the company reported revenue of ₹16,676 crore for Q2FY26, up from ₹14,445 crore in the same quarter last year, reflecting steady business growth. Consolidated net profit increased modestly to ₹685 crore from ₹659 crore, while EBITDA rose to ₹1,214 crore. The PAT margin on a consolidated basis saw a slight dip to 4.1% from 4.6% in the corresponding period last year. Basic earnings per share (EPS) stood at ₹10.53, maintaining a stable earnings trajectory.
Store Expansion and E-Commerce Update
In the quarter, Avenue Supermarts increased its presence by adding eight new DMart stores, with its total count standing at 432 stores as of September 30, 2025. CEO-Designate Anshul Asawa informed that two-year-plus stores increased 6.8% in the quarter. He further mentioned that the company passed on the advantage of recent rate reductions in GST to customers in impacted categories.
On the e-tailing front, Avenue E-Commerce Ltd expanded its DMart Ready businesses. On Vikram Dasu’s tally, as Whole-Time Director and CEO of Avenue E-Commerce Ltd, ten new fulfillment centers opened in established markets and Avenue E-Commerce Ltd closed shop in five small cities. DMart Ready now operates in 19 Indian cities.
