Chennai, October 29 – Five-Star Business Finance share price is trading in the green today, on October 29. At closing Five-Star Business Finance’s share price is up by 13.23%, trading at ₹608.10. Prior to this major uptick, the shares had traded within a range of ₹561.85 and ₹528.25. The current traded volume stands at 21.56 lakh shares, with the company’s market cap at ₹15,815 crore. The shares of the company have their 52-week high at ₹888.80 and their 52-week low at ₹501.
Five-Star Business Finance Limited is an Indian company that operates as a non-banking financial company (NBFC). The company was established in 1984, and is headquartered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Key Trigger: Strong Q2FY26 and Half-yearly Financial Performance
In Q2 FY26, the company’s total income rose by 14.3% YoY to ₹80,650.23 lakh from ₹70,584.12 lakh in Q2 FY25, and by 1.9% QoQ. Interest income increased by 13.8% YoY to ₹77,312.30 lakh. Total revenue from operations increased 13.8% to ₹79,943.53 lakh. Total expenses stood at ₹42,458.14 lakh, higher by 22.1% YoY but lower by 2.7% QoQ. Profit before tax was ₹38,192.09 lakh, up 6.6% YoY and 7.6% sequentially. Profit after tax increased 6.8% YoY to ₹28,613.81 lakh from ₹26,793.70 lakh.
On the expense side, the company’s finance costs declined to ₹17,997.57 lakh from ₹18,729.22 lakh. Employee expenses were ₹14,362.05 lakh compared to ₹15,607.41 lakh in the previous quarter, an 8% reduction. Impairment on financial instruments rose to ₹5,103.80 lakh from ₹4,778.40 lakh in Q1 FY26. Depreciation and amortisation increased to ₹911.39 lakh from ₹666.80 lakh in Q2 FY25.
For the half-year period (H1 FY26), total income rose 16.2% to ₹1,59,768.97 lakh compared with ₹1,37,522.23 lakh in H1 FY25. Profit after tax was at ₹55,244.97 lakh, up 6.3% from ₹51,950.70 lakh. Basic EPS for Q2 FY26 was ₹9.72 compared to ₹9.16 in Q2 FY25. Diluted EPS was ₹9.69 compared to ₹9.07. The company maintained a face value of ₹1 per share and reported an annualised P/E ratio of 14.55.
