Mumbai July, 27: Larsen & Toubro Limited’s Residential, Commercial Buildings & Factories business has secured a major order for a large-scale housing development in Mumbai, with the company’s order classification indicating a value of ₹5,000 crore to ₹10,000 crore.
According to an exchange disclosure dated July 27, 2026, the contract has been awarded by a reputed client. L&T did not disclose the customer’s identity or the precise contract value.
The scope covers the design and construction of 26 high-rise residential towers, each rising to 120 metres, on a turnkey basis. Structural works, architectural finishes and electromechanical services are included in the mandate.
L&T said it will use large-wall panel precast construction technology to meet the project’s delivery schedule. Building components will be manufactured at a dedicated precast facility and assembled at the project site, a method intended to improve execution speed, productivity and quality.
Under L&T’s disclosed order-classification framework, a “Major” order carries a value ranging from ₹5,000 crore to ₹10,000 crore. The classification provides the value band rather than an exact contract amount.
Stock Market Snapshot
The L&T share price was at ₹3,806.60 as of 3:07 PM IST on July 27, 2026, up ₹21, or 0.55%, according to exchange market data shown.
Shares traded in positive territory at the latest available timestamp after moving through a broad range during the session. The stock had climbed above ₹3,830 earlier in the day before surrendering part of those gains.
The latest order adds to L&T’s project pipeline in the buildings and factories segment, with the Mumbai development involving a sizeable residential construction mandate.
