NFP Sampoorna Foods plans to set up a Cashew Nut Shell Liquid extraction facility, expanding into value-added bio-based products and creating a new revenue stream beyond core cashew processing.

Mumbai, June 23: NFP Sampoorna Foods Ltd has announced plans to establish a Cashew Nut Shell Liquid (CNSL) extraction facility at its Neemrana manufacturing complex, marking a strategic move into value-added processing and bio-based industrial products.
The proposed facility will process up to 1,000 metric tonnes of cashew shells every month, allowing the company to extract CNSL while also generating biomass fuel from by-products. The initiative is aimed at improving value realisation from the cashew processing chain and reducing waste through additional downstream processing.
According to the company, approximately 22-23% of raw shell material is expected to be converted into CNSL, while another 72-73% could be recovered as biomass fuel suitable for industrial applications.
For a company largely associated with dry fruits and cashew processing, the move represents an attempt to capture more value from what was traditionally considered a by-product.
Stock Market Snapshot
Investors appeared to take a measured view of the announcement.
As of 10:22 IST on June 23, 2026, shares of NFP Sampoorna Foods were trading at ₹24.00, down ₹0.10 or 0.41%. The NFP Sampoorna Foods share price remained largely stable despite the company’s plans to diversify into a new processing segment.
Market participants may be waiting for further details regarding investment outlay, commissioning timelines and the potential earnings contribution from the facility before reassessing valuations.

Facility Targets Growing Bio-Based Chemical Market
What makes the project notable is the end-market opportunity for CNSL.
Cashew Nut Shell Liquid is increasingly used as a renewable alternative to petroleum-derived chemicals and finds applications across industrial resins, paints and coatings, friction materials, laminates, specialty polymers and adhesives.
The company cited industry estimates suggesting the global CNSL market could expand from approximately US$512 million in 2025 to around US$876 million by 2030. Biomass fuel demand is also rising as industries look for cleaner and more economical alternatives to conventional fuels.
Management believes the project can improve profitability by increasing utilisation of cashew by-products while creating an additional revenue stream beyond food processing operations.
Company Background
NFP Sampoorna Foods operates an integrated dry-fruit business covering sourcing, importing, processing, grading, packaging and distribution. The company caters to B2B, institutional and wholesale customers and has built a significant presence in the cashew processing ecosystem.
Its operations span procurement from domestic and international markets, with in-house processing helping improve product quality and supply chain control.
Conclusion
The proposed CNSL extraction facility signals a shift towards deeper value addition within NFP Sampoorna Foods’ existing cashew ecosystem.
While the project is still at the proposal stage, it offers the company an opportunity to monetise processing by-products, diversify revenue sources and gain exposure to growing bio-based industrial markets. Future updates on implementation timelines and commercial production will be closely watched by investors evaluating the project’s long-term earnings potential.
