Mumbai, July 1 – Benchmark equity indices ended slightly higher on Tuesday after a day of range-bound movement, supported by buying in heavyweight stocks like Reliance Industries and HDFC Bank.

  • Sensex gained 90.83 points, or 0.11%, closing at 83,697.29
  • Nifty rose 24.75 points, or 0.10%, settling at 25,541.80
  • Gains were led by Reliance Industries, Bharat Electronics, and HDFC Bank
  • Broader market sentiment remained cautious amid FII selling and weak global cues

Market Movement

The BSE Sensex swung between gains and losses before ending the session up by 90.83 points. It touched an intraday high of 83,874.29, up 267.83 points from the previous close. Out of the 30 Sensex constituents, 13 closed in the green while 17 ended in the red.

The NSE Nifty mirrored the trend, closing 24.75 points higher at 25,541.80.

  • Brent crude prices declined 0.22% to USD 66.56 per barrel
  • Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net sellers, pulling out ₹831.50 crore on Monday

On Monday, the markets witnessed significant losses with the Sensex falling 452.44 points (0.54%) to 83,606.46, while the Nifty slipped 120.75 points (0.47%) to close at 25,517.05.
