Sigma Advanced Systems secured a ₹208 crore export contract for 40,000 artillery shell bodies, though the stock traded lower in early deals.

Mumbai, June 8: Sigma Advanced Systems has secured an export contract worth nearly ₹208 crore for the manufacture and supply of 40,000 units of 155 mm M107 artillery shell bodies to a customer in North America.
The company disclosed the development through a press note submitted under Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
According to the company, the contract is valued at about US$21.97 million and will be executed over a six-month period. Production and deliveries are expected to be completed within this timeline.
Sigma Advanced said the order marks a strategic expansion in its munitions manufacturing capabilities. The company added that the required export authorisation from the Department of Defence Production (DDP), Ministry of Defence, has already been obtained.
Stock Market Snapshot
Despite the export order announcement, Sigma Advanced Systems shares remained under pressure during the morning session on June 8, 2026.
As of 9:44 am IST, the stock was trading at ₹418.20 on the NSE, down 4.04% or ₹17.60 compared to the previous close of ₹435.80.
The Sigma Advanced Systems share price saw volatility in early trade as investors reacted to broader market weakness even after the defence manufacturing order disclosure.

Order Expands Defence Manufacturing Presence
The company said the project involves production of 155 mm artillery shell bodies, which form a key structural component used in artillery ammunition systems.
Sigma Advanced noted that manufacturing such components requires specialised expertise in metallurgy, machining, forging, heat treatment and quality assurance processes.
The company also stated that the order strengthens its position as a trusted international manufacturing partner in the defence sector. It believes rising global demand for artillery ammunition is creating long-term opportunities for Indian defence manufacturers with precision engineering capabilities.
