Mumbai, June 16: Silver prices in India eased on Tuesday, giving back a portion of Monday’s gains as the precious metals complex paused following two consecutive sessions of advances. The national rate stands at ₹265 per gram — or ₹2,650 per 10 grams and ₹2,65,000 per kilogram — unchanged from Monday’s ₹2,650 per 10 grams in the mainstream market, holding flat after Monday’s ₹50 jump from Friday’s ₹2,600.
The flat reading on Tuesday comes as markets digest Monday’s sharp two-day rally, which had been driven by dollar weakness and rate-cut optimism following confirmation of the U.S.-Iran peace framework. With no fresh macro catalyst overnight, silver appears to be consolidating rather than extending its advance, as traders await further clarity from the Federal Reserve’s June 16–17 FOMC meeting, which could reset expectations for the dollar and real interest rates — both key drivers for the metal in the days ahead.
Across India’s major cities, Tuesday’s pricing shows a narrowing of the two-tier premium structure seen on Monday. The mainstream tier — Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Pune, Vadodara and Ahmedabad — holds steady at ₹2,650 per 10 grams, unchanged from Monday.

However, the premium cluster of Chennai, Hyderabad and Kerala has eased to ₹2,750 per 10 grams on Tuesday, down ₹50 from Monday’s ₹2,800 in these cities, narrowing the premium gap over the national mainstream rate from ₹150 on Monday to ₹100 on Tuesday. This pullback in the southern and premium markets suggests some of Monday’s sharper regional demand-driven gains are normalising, even as the broader national rate holds its ground.
Gold prices, meanwhile, remained firm on Tuesday, holding just above the historic levels reached during Monday’s sharp rally. The national rate for 10 grams of 24 karat gold stands at ₹1,51,540, barely changed from Monday’s ₹1,51,530, while 22 karat gold is at ₹1,38,910 and 18 karat at ₹1,13,660, both up marginally by ₹10 from the previous session.

Chennai continues to command the highest gold rates nationally, with 24 karat gold priced at ₹1,53,500 per 10 grams. The metal’s near-flat movement suggests the market is consolidating after Monday’s ₹5,900 surge rather than reversing course, with the weak dollar and rate-cut expectations still providing underlying support.
