Mumbai, Sept 25: Here are five stocks in focus on Friday, from a beauty-investment tie-up for Nykaa to a specialty-gases push for Waaree Energies to a diagnostics buyout for Dr Lal PathLabs to a data-center cabling expansion for Sterlite Technologies to an Industrial AI partnership for L&T Technology Services. Here’s what’s driving each stock and what to track through the session.

Nykaa (NYKAA): Inks investment deal with Loreal’s BOLD fund to invest in Indian beauty brands

Nykaa has inked an agreement with BOLD i.e. Business Opportunities for L’Oréal Development to invest in the coming generation of high growth Indian beauty & personal care brands. As part of this pact, both companies will invest in a minority stake in brands that have high consumer pull at an early stage of growth or mid-stage growth. The investment would be financial in nature and founders of these brands can continue to lead the brands with their current team and vision. In addition to capital, Nykaa and BOLD will provide mentorship to their portfolio brands leveraging L’Oréal’s beauty experience and Nykaa’s panell distribution network. Anchit Nayar, CEO Nykaa Beauty commented that this is a natural extension of their decade long partnership with L’Oreal in India. While L’Oréal India MD Jacques Lebel said that India is one of the most dynamic beauty markets in the world. No details on cheque size and corpus amount were shared.

Waaree Energies (WAAREEENER): Subsidiary to enter specialty gases business

Waaree Energies’ wholly owned subsidiary Waaree Clean Energy Solutions has decided to enter into the Specialty Gases business in India. The company aims to be a one stop shop for Specialty Gases for all Semiconductor and Solar cell manufacturing companies in India. Specialty Gases like Silane, Ammonia and Nitrogen Trifluoride are some of the examples which are used during etching and cleaning and deposition processes while manufacturing chips and solar cells. India imports most of these specialty gases from few international players. This is yet another step by Waaree to move up in the Electronics and Solar Value Chain. Earlier last month the company inked an MoU with WPPL and SGL to manufacture semiconductors in Gujarat. Alongside the company is already manufacturing Solar Cells, Modules and Green Hydrogen. Company didn’t mention any capex outlay but this is a lucrative segment that is expected to see significant growth.

Dr Lal PathLabs (LALPATHLAB): Board approves acquisition of 70% equity shareholding in SN Genelab

Board of Directors of Dr Lal PathLabs has approved to acquire 70% of the shares held by the shareholders of SN Genelab at a cash consideration of upto Rs 168 Crore. SN Genelab will become a subsidiary of Dr Lal Pathlabs once the transaction is completed. This will further add to the list of acquisitions done by the company in the space of diagnostics and pathology. The transaction is expected to complete by 30th Nov 2026 subject to certain terms and conditions.

Sterlite Technologies (STLTECH): Upsizes its Neuralis Data Center Portfolio to include 6,912 Fibers

Sterlite Technologies has expanded its Neuralis Data Center portfolio to include Pre Terminated Fiber Trunk Assemblies ranging from 48F to 6912F. These trunks will help provide connectivity between the data center servers in High Density applications typically seen in AI and Hyperscale data centers. These are assembled and tested at the factory using MTP/MPO Connectors in both Singlemode and Multimode. This eliminates the time taken to terminate each individual fiber in the data center. This follows the company’s recent launch of US certified Plenum rated Fiber Trunk Assemblies. Sterlite has been riding on the back of its growing data center business and reported its highest open orders of over Rs 18,600 Cr along with a healthy growth in QoQ profits in its latest quarter. The company will now offer all fiber counts from 48 to 6912 in their portfolio.

L&T Technology Services (LTTS): Joins hands with Cognite for Industrial AI Solutions

L&T Technology Services has partnered with Cognite a global leader in Industrial AI to provide joint offerings of Industrial AI and Data solutions to asset intensive industries. This partnership will help augment LTTS’ Engineering Intelligence portfolio with Cognitive’s offering in Industrial AI. Cognite uses a combination of its Data Platform and knowledge graphs to understand and create context for complex assets. This is an extension of several other partnerships the company has made in the space of Engineering Intelligence over the past year. This will allow asset intensive clients to benefit from data generated from their operations and engineering to make informed decisions on assets.

Broader Read

We have Nykaa partnering with L’Oréal to invest in Indian beauty brands, Waaree entering the Specialty Gases business to supply chips and solar cells, Dr Lal Pathlabs acquiring a 70% stake in SN Genelab, Sterlite Technologies expanding its Data Center offering to higher fiber counts and L&T Tech Services partnering with Cognite for Industrial AI. There is a common thread among most of the stocks mentioned above. Whether it’s Nykaa trying to grow its reach in the beauty space or Waaree entering a new vertical to serve chip and solar cell manufacturing. And finally LTTS and STL are both trying to grow their footprint in Data Centers and Industrial AI. Let’s see how they fare in the markets today.
