Mumbai, Aug 17: Five stocks are in focus on Monday, from Reliance Industries’ aerospace push with Rolls-Royce to Patanjali Foods’ sharp profit jump, Natco Pharma’s steep earnings decline, PB Fintech’s regulatory notice and BEML’s export order win. Here’s what’s driving each stock and what to track through the day.

Reliance Industries (RELIANCE): Partners Rolls-Royce to develop indigenous combat engine for AMCA

Reliance Industries and UK-based aerospace major Rolls-Royce on Friday announced their strategic intent to jointly design, develop, manufacture and deliver a sovereign, indigenous combat engine for India’s Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme, strengthening efforts to build self-reliant aerospace propulsion capabilities in the country. As part of the proposed partnership, the two companies will explore setting up a dedicated Aerospace Gas Turbine Complex in India to serve as a centre of excellence for power and propulsion technologies, covering design, development, testing, manufacturing and long-term support. Reliance is not among the shortlisted AMCA airframe bidders, so the engine tie-up marks its entry point into the marquee fighter jet programme, where France’s Safran remains seen as the frontrunner for the government’s separate foreign-partner selection. Investors will watch for further clarity on the scope, funding and timelines of the proposed venture.

Patanjali Foods (PATANJALI): Profit jumps 86% to Rs 335.7 crore in Q1 FY27

The company’s consolidated profit jumped 86 per cent year-on-year to Rs 335.7 crore in the quarter ended June, compared with Rs 180.4 crore in the year-ago period, aided by higher total income. Revenue from operations rose 29 per cent to Rs 11,337.5 crore, while EBITDA surged 69 per cent to Rs 543.3 crore. The edible oils business remained the largest contributor to revenue, with the FMCG vertical also posting healthy growth during the quarter. The company has scheduled earnings call for Monday to discuss its performance and operational outlook, though it has said no price-sensitive information will be shared. Investors will track margin trends in the edible oils segment and the pace of expansion in FMCG as the stock reacts to the strong show.

Natco Pharma (NATCOPHARM): Profit slumps 57% to Rs 206.5 crore on weak lenalidomide sales

Natco Pharma‘s consolidated net profit declined 57 per cent year-on-year to Rs 206.5 crore in the quarter ended June 2026, primarily due to lower sales of its generic cancer drug, lenalidomide. Revenue from operations dropped 44.7 per cent to Rs 735.2 crore, as the international formulations business, which houses lenalidomide sales, nearly halved during the quarter. EBITDA fell 67.4 per cent to Rs 186 crore, with margins contracting sharply to 25.3 per cent. Domestic formulations and the API business bucked the trend and grew during the quarter. The board also approved an interim dividend of Rs 1.50 per share and a plan to raise up to Rs 2,000 crore via QIP, a move investor will watch closely for potential equity dilution.

PB Fintech (POLICYBZR): Policybazaar receives IRDAI show-cause notice

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has issued a show-cause notice to Policybazaar, a wholly owned subsidiary of PB Fintech, based on certain observations made following an inspection. Policybazaar will duly submit its response to the authority within the prescribed timelines. IRDAI conducted the inspection of Policybazaar Insurance Brokers from October 21 to October 25, 2024, and has, with respect to the findings, also issued a Letter of Advice on certain documentary and process-related matters. The company has previously maintained that similar regulatory actions have not had a material financial impact on its operations, and investors will watch for the substance of its formal response.

BEML (BEML): Bags $6.65 million export order from Mauritius

The state-run defence and engineering player has received an order worth $6.65 million from Mauritius for the supply of BE220G Hydraulic Excavators, to be deployed across key African markets including Liberia, Sierra Leone, Ghana, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Cote d’Ivoire and neighbouring countries. With this order, BEML‘s international order bookings as of date stand at approximately $119 million, underlining the company’s continued push to widen its export footprint in the mining and construction equipment space across Africa. Investors will track further order inflows and execution timelines as the company builds on its overseas order book.
