Mumbai, September 9, 2025: Voltamp Transformers Ltd (NSE: VOLTAMP) shares fell 3.27% as of 12:10  PM, on Tuesday to ₹7,523.00 from Monday’s close of ₹7,777.50. The stock opened at ₹7,675, fell as low as ₹7,528. The current trading volume stands at 11.30 lakh shares, indicating increased investor interest.

Voltamp Transformers Ltd, a company formed in 1963 with headquarters in Vadodara, is one of India’s top transformers manufacturers. Voltamp operates as a manufacturer of power and distribution transformers from 25 kVA to 160 MVA and caters to industries in power, infrastructure, and utilities. Voltamp has a diverse base of clients and has a stable order book and is a dominant force in India’s capital goods and electrical equipment industry. It is listed on NSE with the ticker symbol VOLTAMP and on BSE with the code 532757.

Stake Sale Proposal Triggers Market Reaction

The fall followed reports that promoter Kunjal Patel is likely to sell as much as 7.88 lakh shares, equivalent to as much as 7% stake, in block deals. The suggested offer size is placed at $67 million with a floor price at ₹7,600 per share, slightly higher than prevailing market levels. Reports of potential stake dilution had a sobering effect on investor sentiment, resulting in a selloff during early trade.

Even though the floor price was above current rates, the stock continued to come under pressure as traders were wary of the large size of the stake sale. The sharp action in the counter highlighted short-term concerns, even while Voltamp has recently enjoyed a consistent order flow and good operating outlook.

Adverse Near Term Impact Expected

Analysts observed that although the block deal may enhance float and liquidity in the long term, the near-term impact is adverse since investors view promoter stake reduction as a short-term sentiment dampener. Volatility will linger until the deal is completely digested by institutional investors.
