U.S. markets ended a volatile week mixed as investors digested the Fed’s latest 25‑bp hike and rising global geopolitical risk. The Nasdaq gained 0.7% on dip‑buying in mega‑cap tech, while the Dow fell 1.7%, its weakest week since March, and the S&P 500 slipped marginally. Tariff risks resurfaced after passage of the Russia–Iran Sanctions Act, with markets watching the 24 September Trump–Xi meeting for clarity on trade, AI and critical minerals.

In India, Nifty logged its sixth straight weekly decline, down 0.22%, pressured by elevated crude and global yields despite Moody’s upgrading FY27 GDP to 7%. A late‑week rebound lifted Nifty to 23,346; 23,600 remains the key resistance, while 23,100 has formed a short‑term support base.

Indian markets are set for a flat to mildly negative open amid U.S. tariff concerns and worsening Russia–Ukraine geopolitics.
