Global equities extended their decline for a second straight week as U.S. Treasury yields surged to fresh yearly highs ahead of the Fed meeting, while weak sentiment around AI‑capex–heavy tech names dragged the Nasdaq lower. Brent crude retreated sharply from USD 100 as geopolitical risks eased, helping stabilize risk appetite.
Domestically, Nifty logged five consecutive losses amid rising oil, weak bank earnings, and sustained FII outflows, though DII buying provided support. Key levels remain 24,000 on the upside and 23,600 as immediate support. Indian markets are set to open sharply higher on easing crude prices.
