Kolkata | June 6, 2025: Coal India Ltd (NSE: COALINDIA, BSE: 533278), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Coal, has announced that it has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Port Rail & Ropeway Corporation Limited (IPRCL) for the development of rail infrastructure across CIL and its subsidiaries.

The primary objective of Coal India signing the MoU is to enhance logistics efficiency and coal evacuation capacity by upgrading and expanding rail networks integral to Coal India’s operations.

The MoU between the two companies was executed on June 5, 2025, in Kolkata and reflects a shared business partnership between the two to collaborate on long-term infrastructure projects vital to India’s energy supply chain.

The disclosure was made under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015.

How Did the Investors React to the News?

Coal India’s shares increased by 0.56%, up by ₹2.20 and were trading at ₹397.15 during the opening market session on June 6. It remains to be seen where the shares will end after the market closes.
