Short covering seen in Bank Nifty Futures
Create Longs with stop loss (SL) at 24450 Levels
Nifty slid 75 points to 24,574, yesterday, dragged by rate-sensitive sectors after the RBI maintained a neutral stance. A subdued opening is expected today due to global weakness and US tariff threats.
Short Build-Up was seen in the Nifty Futures where Open Interest rose by 0.72% with Nifty falling by 0.31%.
Short Covering was seen in the Bank Nifty Futures where Open Interest fell by 1.31% with Bank Nifty rising by 0.09%.
Nifty Open Interest Put Call ratio fell to 0.74 levels from 0.83 levels. PCR was near oversold territory.
Amongst the Nifty options (07-Aug Expiry), Call writing is seen at 24600-24700 levels, indicating Nifty is likely to find strong resistance in the vicinity of 24600-24700 levels. On the lower side, an immediate support is placed in the vicinity of 24500-24400 levels where we have seen Put writing.
Short covering was seen from the side of FIIs in the Index Futures segment where they net bought contracts worth Rs 342 cr with their Open Interest going down by 1243 contracts.
