Create shorts with stop loss (SL) at 25150 levels
Short covering was seen in Nifty & Bank Nifty Futures yesterday.
It was another bullish session on Dalal Street yesterday, 19th August, as Nifty continued its upward momentum, closing with a gain of 103 points (0.42%) at 24980. This marks the fourth consecutive session of gains for the index, which closed slightly below its day’s high.
Short Covering was seen in the Nifty Futures where Open Interest fell by 0.36% with Nifty rising by 0.42%.
Short Covering was seen in the Bank Nifty Futures where Open Interest fell by 3.47% with Bank Nifty rising by 0.23%.
Nifty Open Interest Put Call ratio rose to 1.14 levels from 1.00 levels.
Amongst the Nifty options (21-Aug Expiry), Call writing is seen at 25100-25200 levels, indicating Nifty is likely to find strong resistance in the vicinity of 25100-25200 levels. On the lower side, an immediate support is placed in the vicinity of 24900-25000 levels where we are seeing Put writing.
Short build-up is being seen from the side of FIIs in the Index Futures segment where they net sold contracts worth 35 cr with their Open Interest going up by 165 contracts.
