Create longs with stop loss (SL) at 24900 levels
Short covering seen in Nifty Futures
Nifty extended its winning streak for the sixth consecutive session, yesterday, 21st August, closing at 25083 with a gain of 33 points (0.13%). After reaching a high of 25153, the index witnessed profit booking, trimming its gains to close near its day’s low.
Short Covering was seen in the Nifty Futures where Open Interest fell by 1.60% with Nifty rising by 0.13%.
Long Build-Up was seen in the Bank Nifty Futures where Open Interest rose by 0.05% with Bank Nifty rising by 0.10%.
Nifty Open Interest Put Call ratio fell to 1.09 levels from 1.18 levels.
Amongst the Nifty options (28-Aug Expiry), Call writing is seen at 25200-25300 levels, indicating Nifty is likely to find strong resistance in the vicinity of 25200-25300 levels. On the lower side, an immediate support is placed in the vicinity of 25000-24900 levels where we have seen Put writing.
Short covering was seen from the side of FIIs in the Index Futures segment where they net bought contracts worth Rs 970 cr with their Open Interest going down by 3458 contracts.
