Gold prices in Bangalore continued their upward momentum on August 6, with bullion rates posting gains for the second consecutive day. The 24K gold rate climbed to ₹14,973 per gram, while 22K gold rose to ₹13,725 per gram, bringing prices close to the ₹15,000 mark after a brief lull earlier this week.

Bangalore, August 6: Gold prices strengthened further in Bangalore on Thursday, extending gains for a second straight session as the bullion market continued to recover from the weaknessseen at the start of the month. The latest rise pushed 24-karat gold within touching distance of the ₹15,000-per-gram mark, while 22-karat gold also recorded a healthy increase, reflecting improving sentiment in the domestic market.
According to today’s retail rates, 24-karat gold is priced at ₹14,973 per gram, up ₹289 from the previous session. 22-karat gold has increased by ₹265 to ₹13,725 per gram, while 18-karat gold is trading at ₹11,230 per gram, higher by ₹217.
The steady rebound over the last two days suggests that the recent correction has begun to fade. After remaining largely range-bound through the opening week of August, gold has regained momentum, giving buyers another reminder of how quickly prices can change in the bullion market.

Gold Recovers Lost Ground, Nears ₹15,000 Again
The latest rally marks a clear turnaround from the sluggish price movement seen earlier this week.
For nearly three sessions, gold barely moved as buyers waited for fresh direction. That changed on Wednesday, when prices started edging higher, and Thursday’s rally built on that momentum with another strong gain. The result is a market that has almost erased its early-August weakness in just two trading sessions.
With 24K gold now only ₹27 away from ₹15,000 per gram, the focus shifts to whether the rally can sustain itself or if profit-booking slows the pace of gains over the coming days.

Why Do Gold Prices Change Every Day?
Gold prices change daily because they are influenced by a mix of domestic and global factors rather than local demand alone. International bullion prices, movements in the rupee against the US dollar, import duties, inflation expectations, central bank policies and geopolitical developments all play a role in determining retail gold rates.
As these factors evolve, jewellers revise prices accordingly, resulting in the day-to-day fluctuations seen across cities.
Conclusion
Gold prices in Bangalore extended their recovery on Thursday, with 24K gold climbing to ₹14,973 per gram and 22K gold rising to ₹13,725 per gram. The back-to-back gains have brought bullion within striking distance of the ₹15,000 mark, reversing the softness witnessed earlier this month. Investors and jewellery buyers will now be watching global bullion prices and currency movements closely to see whether the current rally gathers further pace or settles after its recent surge.
