Delhi, July 30: Gold prices in Delhi saw little movement on Thursday, with rates easing by just ₹1 per gram across 24K, 22K and 18K categories. After a series of sharper corrections over the past week, today’s muted move indicates the market may be entering a phase of consolidation.

According to the latest retail rates, 24-karat gold is priced at ₹14,365 per gram, down ₹1 from Wednesday. 22-karat gold is trading at ₹13,169 per gram, while 18-karat gold has slipped to ₹10,777 per gram, also lower by ₹1.

Although the daily change is negligible, gold prices remain well below the levels seen during last week’s rally, keeping buyers focused on whether the recent correction has finally run its course.

Gold Rally Continues to Lose Steam

Gold prices climbed steadily through the third week of July before touching a recent high of ₹14,656 per gram on July 22. That upward momentum, however, faded quickly as investors booked profits, dragging prices lower over the following sessions.

With Thursday’s slight decline, 24K gold is now ₹291 below last week’s peak, highlighting how much of the earlier rally has been erased. Even so, the pace of the decline has slowed considerably over the past two trading sessions.

Recent Gold Price Performance

Current Price ₹14,365 ₹13,169

Despite a brief rebound earlier this week, gold has gradually drifted lower and is now trading at its weakest level since the third week of July. Buyers waiting for softer prices have benefited from the recent correction, while traders remain cautious about the next direction in bullion.

Why Do Gold Prices Change Every Day?

Gold prices are driven by a mix of international and domestic factors. Movements in global bullion prices, the rupee’s exchange rate against the U.S. dollar, import costs and inflation expectations all influence daily retail rates.

Interest-rate expectations, central bank purchases, geopolitical developments and investor demand for safe-haven assets also play a key role. On top of these factors, making charges and local taxes determine the final price consumers pay at jewellery stores.

Conclusion

Gold prices in Delhi remained broadly stable on July 30, with 24K gold slipping by just ₹1 to ₹14,365 per gram and 22K gold easing to ₹13,169 per gram. While the latest move was minimal, bullion continues to trade below last week’s highs following a broader correction.

The slowdown in daily declines suggests the market may be finding a near-term floor, though investors will continue to monitor global bullion prices, currency movements and macroeconomic developments for fresh direction.
