New Delhi, September 17, 2025: Razorpay becomes the first Indian payment aggregator to facilitate Apple Pay in its domain of cross-border transactions. In a recent announcement, the company spoke about its focus on providing Indian merchants a wider access to worldwide customers through its integration of Apple Pay for international transactions. A feature that is aimed at enabling faster checkouts, reduced payment steps, and of course higher conversion rates for businesses aiming to reach out to international buyers.

Cross-Border Payments Enabled

Razorpay’s newly enabled service is available to eligible merchants onboarding customers in supported geographies. The good thing about the whole deal is that it will operate in line with India’s cross-border payment regulations. The brands that stand to benefit from this integration include Mokobara, Akasa Air, Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop, Sabyasachi, Nish Hair, and House of Masaba.

Global Reach and Adoption

With a wide customer base of over 500 million users worldwide, Apple Pay is one of the world’s most widely used payment methods. Moreover, 90% of merchants in the United States already accept it. Now there’s no need for CVV, OTP, or manual card entry, as the linking of Apple Pay lets Razorpay facilitate the usage of single-click payments through biometric authentication such as Face ID or Touch ID. Simply put, the entire checkout process will be streamlined to a great extent.

Strong Early Results

According to Razorpay, pilot testing of Apple Pay showed significant benefits for merchants. Conversion rates improved by 58%, checkout times reduced by 45%, and the average order value rose by 12%. The company highlighted that these results demonstrate the potential of simplified payments in enhancing customer experience and driving sales across borders.

Expansion Beyond India

The Apple Pay integration follows Razorpay’s ongoing international push. Earlier this year, the company entered Singapore, its second overseas market after Malaysia. In Southeast Asia, Razorpay is offering its suite of payment solutions, including gateways, cross-border transaction tools, and analytics.

The expansion builds on its acquisition of Malaysia-based fintech firm Curlec in 2022, which later launched Razorpay’s first international payment gateway in July 2023. With Apple Pay now available to Indian merchants, Razorpay is positioning itself to strengthen both domestic and international growth opportunities.
