Infosys has handed out performance bonuses for the April–June quarter of FY26, with payouts coming in noticeably higher than the same period for the previous financial year. The move follows the company’s steady performance in the first quarter.

According to people aware of the matter, the average payout was around 80%, while most employees saw a range between 75% and 89%. The bonus covers staff in levels 4, 5, and 6, which includes engineers, team leads, and senior managers. Even employees marked under the “non-applicable” category have been covered this time.

The company told staff that the money would be credited along with the August salary. Delivery managers have been asked to split the payouts within their teams, depending on individual contribution.

In an internal mail, Infosys said it was aligning the payouts with its focus on building a high-performance culture. The note added that performance differentiation continued to be a key factor in finalising bonuses.

For many employees, the news is a relief. In the March quarter, a number of them had received far less than expected; some said they got only half the target, while even the top performers complained of being capped at around 70%. In the past, Infosys has paid the full eligible bonus when business conditions were stronger.

Earlier this year, the Bengaluru-headquartered company had also rolled out pay hikes of 5–8%, with most employees receiving the increment in February. Promotions were handed out in June, but only for select roles.

According to company insiders, only employees with niche skills or critical responsibilities were considered. Experience, capability, and contribution to teams were key filters.

At Infosys, promotions usually happen once every four years. Senior staff need to complete about 15 years before they can move up from band five (JL 5).
