Nifty 50, Sensex start the day in red; M&M shares up by more than 2%

Indian benchmark indices have started the day in red today. At 9:25 a.m. IST, 3rd November, 2025, Nifty 50 is down by 51.80 points or 0.20%. Sensex is down by 238.80 points or 0.28%.
Maruti shares down by more than 2%
Top 3 gainers at Nifty 50 at this time are Shriram Finance, M&M and Indigo. Top 3 losers are Maruti, BEL and Titan. Maruti shares are down by 2.48% at this time, trading at Rs 15,785, after the company announced its September quarter result. Its profit in the quarter increased year-on-year by 8%. M&M shares are up 1.80% at this time, trading at Rs 3,549.80. Sales of passenger vehicles and SUVs were above the 5 lakh mark in the month of October. M&M is among the market leaders in SUV segment in India.
Some PSU bank stocks are again gaining today
The decline at this time is largely in large cap stocks. Nifty 100 index is down by 0.14%. Many PSU bank stocks are again gaining today. Nifty PSU bank index is the top gainer at NSE at this time. It is up by 1.22%. Nifty Midsmall Healthcare Index is up by 0.81%.
Nifty Consumer Durables Index is the top loser at NSE at this time. It is down by 0.69%. This is mainly because of the decline in Titan’s share price at this time. Titan’s shares are down by 1.07% at this time, trading at Rs 3,706. 50. Titan has a weight of around 36% in Nifty Consumer Durables Index.

Market breadth is positive at this time. 1595 stocks are gaining at NSE. 1064 stocks are declining. 67 stocks have touched 52-week high at NSE by this time. 32 stocks have touched 52-week low. This indicates that gains are also being seen in the broader market today.
