Jio Financial Services, HDFC Life and Adani Enterprises ended among the top Nifty 50 gainers on July 10, while Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Eternal and Bharti Airtel finished in the red.

Mumbai, July 10: The Nifty 50 ended Friday’s session with gains concentrated in financial, technology and select industrial stocks, while healthcare, FMCG and telecom names witnessed mild profit booking. Buying remained stock-specific through the day, with several heavyweight counters finishing firmly in positive territory. 

Jio Financial, HDFC Life and Adani Enterprises Lead the Rally 

Jio Financial Services emerged as the biggest gainer on the Nifty 50, rising 3.90% to close at ₹242.48. HDFC Life Insurance followed with a 2.84% gain to ₹567.50, while Adani Enterprises advanced 2.41% to ₹3,157.80. 

Among other notable gainers, Reliance Industries climbed 2.36%, SBI Life Insurance added 2.29%, and Axis Bank rose 2.04%. Technology stocks also remained in demand, with Tech Mahindra gaining 2.01%, while Infosys, Wipro and HCLTech ended the session with healthy gains.

Healthcare, FMCG and Telecom Stocks End Lower 

On the losing side, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories was the top laggard, slipping 1.19% to ₹1,246.50. Eternal declined 0.87%, while Bharti Airtel lost 0.63%. 

Other stocks ending in negative territory included Nestlé India, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, ITC and Trent. However, losses across the broader index remained relatively limited, reflecting a market that was largely supported by gains in heavyweight financial and IT stocks.

Financials and Technology Dominate Market Leadership 

The session saw strong participation in financial and information technology stocks, with buying extending to select industrial names. Meanwhile, profit booking in healthcare, FMCG and telecom stocks kept gains in check, resulting in a mixed sectoral performance despite the positive undertone. 

Conclusion 

As of the market close at 4:00 PM IST on July 10, Jio Financial Services, HDFC Life Insurance and Adani Enterprises emerged as the top performers on the Nifty 50, supported by broad buying in financials and technology stocks. In contrast, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Eternal and Bharti Airtel finished among the leading losers, reflecting selective selling in defensive sectors as investors rotated into growth-oriented names.
