At 2:40 p.m. 20th August, the share price of Ola Electric is up by 14.81%, trading at Rs 51.43. Nifty 50 index is up by 0.36% at this time. The stock has gained around 24% in the past two days. In the past one year, the stock has lost more than 60%. The stock price suddenly jumped yesterday. This was probably because of China saying that it will address the rare magnets shortage created by its export restrictions. Rare magnets are a raw material in EVs that the company makes. A block deal also happened in the stock today.

Market Snapshot

The stock today recorded a VWAP of ₹49.08, with robust trading volumes of 4,900.10 lakh and a total traded value of ₹2,404.97 crore.

Rally Over Two Days

The rise in Ola’s stock today marks the second consecutive session of gains for the company. Yesterday, the company gained over 9%, making the total gain over two days well over 20%, a remarkable growth for the company. However, despite the continuous growth, the stock is still considerably below its 52-week high of ₹157.40 (20-Aug-2024) and remains closer to its 52-week low of ₹39.60 (14-Jul-2025). This suggests that while short-term recovery is underway, the stock’s long-term trajectory is still up for question compared to its peak valuations.

The continuous rally in Ola Electric’s shares highlights that the market may be showing more  confidence in the company’s near-term prospects. However, given its sharp swings from its 52-week high and low,  the stock remains high-risk with high volatility. Investors should view this rebound as a short-term positive momentum play. At the same time, the long-term confidence relies on consistent financial performance, EV adoption trends, and Ola’s ability to scale profitably.
