Fire at ONGC Kalol Installation in Gujarat Brought Under Control; No Injuries Reported

New Delhi: A fire that broke out at an Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) installation in the Kalol field in Gujarat on Thursday was brought under control after emergency teams responded to the incident, with no injuries reported, the state-run energy company said.

ONGC said its fire and emergency response teams responded immediately and extinguished the blaze. Normal production operations have since been restored, it said.

“No injury or harm to any personnel has been reported. The situation is fully under control, and normal production operations have been completely restored,” the company said in a statement.

The incident occurred at an ONGC facility in the Kalol-Mansa area of Gandhinagar district. Firefighting teams were deployed after flames and smoke were seen at the installation.

The premier oil and gas company insisted it places the highest priority on the safety of its personnel, assets and neighbouring communities.

“The Corporation remains committed to maintaining robust safety standards and emergency-response preparedness across all its operational locations,” the Maharatna PSU said.

Preliminary information suggested the fire at the ONGC installation was caused by a boiler bursting, Kalol Mamlatdar (revenue department official) Navin Nayi told the media.
