President Trump extends US, China trade truce for another 90 days

US equity markets ended the day in red yesterday, 11th August, 2025. Nasdaq ended the day, down by 64.62 points or 0.30%. Dow Jones ended the day, down by 200.52 points or 0.45%. S&P 500 ended the day, down by 16 points or 0.25%.
US President Donald Trump has extended the trade truce with China for another 90 days to allow further trade negotiations to take place. He has also allowed Nvidia and other American companies to sell their Artificial intelligence chips to China. In return these companies will pay 15% of their revenues to the American government. President Trump also said that there will be no tariffs on gold imports. This provided much needed relief to Switzerland. Switzerland is the biggest exporter of gold to USA.
European markets ended the day yesterday on a mixed note
Euro Stoxx 50 ended the day, yesterday, down by 15.89 points or 0.30%. Dax ended the day, down by 81.52 points or 0.34%. FTSE 100 ended the day, up by 33.98 points or 0.37%.
Asian markets start the day on a positive note
Asian markets have started the day today on a positive note. At 8:55 a.m. Indian Standard Time, 12th August, 225, Nikkei 225 is up by 1029 points or 2.46%. Hang Seng is marginally down by 0.76 points or .0031%. Shanghai Composite is up by 17.14 points or 0.47%. Kospi index is up by 14.15 points or 0.44%.
Indian equity markets ended the day, yesterday, strongly in green. They are likely to see some profit booking today, after the gains of yesterday.
