19th August 2025: Reliance Industries stock price is in green today, 19th August. At 2:17 p.m. the stock price is up by 2.44% at Rs 1,415.50. Nifty 50 index is up by 0.26% at this time.
The stocks is gaining today on increased hopes of ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia. If a ceasefire happens soon then it will benefit Reliance Industries. It will be able to escape sanctions on buying Russian oil.
In other developments related related to the company, Jio has announcement that it will increase base tariffs and discontinue the entry-level plan. The entry-level plans will be slightly more expensive, resulting in a higher revenue for the company. Further, Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries, acquired a majority stake in a JV (Joint Venture) with Naturedge Beverages Private Limited.
After today’s rally, the stock has surged by almost 16% (~15.78%) YTD. The surge is critical given the rather lukewarm sentiment in the market and the massive impact that Reliance Industries has on the financial markets.
With the latest developments, a few brokerage houses have upgraded their ratings on Reliance Industries’ stock. As the company’s fundamentals are extremely strong and the business model is quite diversified, the brokerage houses are largely positive about the stock’s growth in the next couple of quarters.
RIL’s strategic position, combined with the company’s consistent expansion plans, makes the prospects worth paying attention to by investors for a medium to long-term period.
