Mumbai, September 22: Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited has secured two major renewable energy orders worth more than ₹985 crore, covering a 534.3 MWp project in Rajasthan and two battery energy storage system projects with a combined capacity of 616 MWh in South Africa.
The orders add to the company’s solar EPC and energy storage portfolio at a time when utility-scale renewable projects and grid-scale battery storage are seeing increased demand.
Sterling And Wilson Renewable Energy Secures Rajasthan Solar Order
According to the company’s exchange disclosure, Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy has received a domestic order for a 534.3 MWp project in Rajasthan from a new customer.
The Rajasthan contract covers the Balance of System package for the project. The company said the order reflects the customer’s confidence in its execution capabilities and follows its growing presence in the utility-scale renewable energy segment.
The project is also expected to contribute to lower carbon emissions. SWREL estimates that the Rajasthan project could reduce CO₂ emissions by approximately 0.80 million tonnes after commissioning.
Stock Market Snapshot
The Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy share price stood at ₹182.50, up ₹9.17 or approximately 5.29% from the previous close of ₹173.33, as of 9:52 AM IST on September 22, 2026. The previous closing price is based on NSE historical market data.
The stock moved higher soon after the market opened and crossed the ₹180 level during morning trade. The latest available market data showed the shares holding above ₹182 after touching around ₹185 earlier in the session.
The movement came on the same day as the company announced the two new orders, although the price action should not by itself be treated as confirmation of the market’s reason for the move.
South Africa Order Adds 616 MWh Of Battery Storage Capacity
The second order covers two battery energy storage system projects in South Africa, each with 308 MWh of capacity, taking the combined energy storage capacity to 616 MWh.
The order has been secured from a leading Middle East-based renewable energy project developer. Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy described it as its second-largest utility-scale BESS project.
The company said the South African contract reflects an existing customer relationship and its experience in executing renewable energy and storage projects.
Together, the Rajasthan and South African orders have a total value of more than ₹985 crore, including taxes.
Orders Strengthen Solar And Energy Storage Portfolio
The latest wins give Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy exposure to two different parts of the renewable energy market.
The Rajasthan project is focused on utility-scale solar infrastructure, while the South African contract expands the company’s battery energy storage work. BESS projects are increasingly being deployed alongside renewable generation to help manage power supply and improve grid flexibility.
The company said the new orders strengthen its position across the global renewable energy sector and add to its execution pipeline.
Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy currently operates across 28 countries and provides engineering, procurement and construction services for utility-scale solar, floating solar, hybrid and energy storage projects. Its portfolio stands at more than 28.7 GW across projects commissioned and under construction.
Conclusion
Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy’s latest contracts cover a 534.3 MWp solar project in Rajasthan and two 308 MWh BESS projects in South Africa.
With a combined order value of more than ₹985 crore, the wins add both solar EPC work and utility-scale battery storage capacity to the company’s portfolio. The Rajasthan project is also expected to reduce CO₂ emissions by about 0.80 million tonnes after commissioning.
Meanwhile, the Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy share price was at ₹182.50, up approximately 5.29% from the previous close, as of 9:52 AM IST on September 22, 2026.
