New Delhi, Oct 12: Here are five stocks in focus on Monday, from Power Grid’s full commissioning of a 20-GW Rajasthan renewable evacuation project to fresh orders worth Rs 1,014 crore at KEC International to Blue Dart’s MoU with India Post to Infosys’s view on the US PERM suspension to Bajel Projects’ Rs 200 crore-plus order from Tata Power. Here are some key points to note from today’s session.
Power Grid Corporation of India (POWERGRID)
Power Grid Corporation of India (POWERGRID) has fully commissioned its transmission system for evacuating power from renewable energy zones in Rajasthan (20 GW) under Phase III, Part C1, effective September 22, 2026. The company received the notification for commercial operation, dated October 7, by email on October 11.
The project includes a new 765/400 kV substation at Ramgarh equipped with a static synchronous compensator (STATCOM), a 765 kV double-circuit transmission line and bay extension works at existing substations in Rajasthan. It follows the commissioning of the Phase III, Part H system on July 4. Investors will track how quickly Power Grid turns its remaining Rajasthan packages into operating assets.
KEC International (KEC)
KEC International (KEC) has secured new orders worth Rs 1,014 crore in its India transmission and distribution (T&D) business. They include its first order for setting up a 765 kV transmission line to evacuate power from a pumped storage plant (PSP) in western India. With these wins, year-to-date order intake has exceeded Rs 9,600 crore.
The announcement follows orders worth Rs 1,030 crore across its T&D, Renewables and Cables & Conductors businesses reported on Thursday. The client, the value of the line alone and the execution schedule have not been disclosed, so the market will look for those details.
Blue Dart Express (BLUEDART)
Blue Dart Express (BLUEDART) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with India Post, announced on Friday, World Post Day, to further expand its delivery reach. The collaboration will strengthen last-mile connectivity for businesses and customers across Tier III and Tier IV towns and remote locations. The expanded coverage will be introduced in phases.
Shipments to these additional locations will be delivered through India Post’s network, so the express logistics company can widen its coverage without building new infrastructure for hard-to-serve pin codes. Investors will watch how soon the phased rollout begins and whether it lifts volumes from smaller towns.
Infosys (INFY)
Infosys (INFY) said in an exchange filing on Saturday that it does not expect the US Department of Labor’s suspension of applications under the Permanent Labor Certification (PERM) programme to have a material impact on its operations. The company said it remains committed to its employees, clients and communities across the United States and to complying with all applicable laws and regulations.
The US announced the suspension on Thursday for eight companies, including Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Wipro and HCL Technologies. PERM is the first step towards an employment-based green card and is separate from the H-1B visa programme. TCS has said its PERM applications were in single digits in the last two years. IT stocks rose on Friday, with the Nifty IT index up 3 per cent and Infosys up 2.6 per cent, but investors will watch for any further action from the US administration.
Bajel Projects (BAJEL)
Bajel Projects (BAJEL) has secured a major engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) order worth more than Rs 200 crore from Tata Power Company (TATAPOWER) for the supply and installation of 220 kV gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) substations at Salsette and Powai in Mumbai.
The work is split into two packages: a 220 kV GIS at the Salsette receiving station and a 220 kV outdoor GIS substation at the Powai receiving station. The company classes orders of Rs 200 crore to Rs 300 crore, including GST, as major, and the work is to be executed within 18 months of the purchase order. The win follows a transmission line package worth more than Rs 600 crore in August, and investors will track execution.
