Mumbai, Sept 23: Here are five stocks in focus on Wednesday, from a land monetisation plan for IRB Infrastructure Developers to an IT modernisation deal for HCL Technologies to a stake increase for Persistent Systems to a large block exit for Pine Labs to a bulk-deal churn in Mazda. Here’s what’s driving each stock and what to track through the session.
IRB Infrastructure Developers (IRB): Board clears monetisation of 350-acre land parcel in Pune
The board of IRB Infrastructure Developers has granted in-principle approval and authorised the company to monetise its non-core assets through the phased development of land parcels measuring around 350 acres, out of a total 1,100 acres owned by Aryan Infrastructure Investments (AIIPL) at Taje and Pimpaloli villages in Pune district. The initiative also covers the redevelopment and rehabilitation of a separate parcel measuring around 3,500 square metres owned by Ideal Road Builders (IRBPL) at Chandivali in Mumbai. “This initiative will contribute substantially to the cash flows without any incremental cost to the company,” said Satinder S Rana, CEO – Corporate.
HCL Technologies (HCLTECH): Wins IT modernisation mandate from UK’s M Group
HCLTech has been selected by UK-based infrastructure services provider M Group to modernise IT operations across more than 200 locations. The company said it will deploy its AI Force service transformation platform as part of the engagement, positioning the deal as part of a broader AI-led managed services programme aimed at streamlining the client’s technology estate.
Persistent Systems (PERSISTENT): Raises Nagarro stake to 83.25% after takeover offer
Persistent Systems has increased its stake in Nagarro to 83.25 per cent after securing an additional 61.15 per cent through its voluntary public takeover offer for the German-listed digital engineering firm. The additional acceptance period for remaining Nagarro shareholders will run from September 23 to October 6, giving minority holders a further window to tender their shares before the offer process concludes.
Pine Labs (PINELABS): Mastercard exits with Rs 933.57-crore block sale
US-based Mastercard Incorporated’s Asia/Pacific arm has exited Pine Labs entirely, selling its full 4.31 per cent stake, or 4.97 crore shares, for Rs 933.57 crore. The shares changed hands at Rs 187.75 apiece and were picked up by 13 domestic and global institutional investors, including ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, Societe Generale, Citigroup Global Markets Singapore, Ghisallo Master Fund, BNP Paribas Arbitrage, Goldman Sachs Bank Europe, Susquehanna Pacific, Kotak Mahindra AMC, Morgan Stanley Asia Singapore, Edelweiss Mutual Fund and Franklin Templeton Mutual Fund, among others, who together absorbed the entire block.
Mazda (MAZDA): Croll Reynolds trims stake further as fresh buyer steps in
Croll Reynolds International Inc offloaded a further 2.42 lakh shares, or a 1.21 per cent stake, in Mazda for Rs 5.91 crore, selling at Rs 243.51 apiece. Sharmin Nasser was among the buyers, acquiring 1.6 lakh shares for Rs 3.89 crore at Rs 243.23 per share. Croll Reynolds International Inc held a 7.23 per cent stake in Mazda as of June 2026, and has now sold a cumulative 2.52 per cent stake, or 5.05 lakh shares, over the last three sessions, marking a steady, multi-day pare-down rather than a single block exit.
Broader Read
Wednesday’s triggers span a large-scale land monetisation plan for IRB Infrastructure, a multi-location IT modernisation win for HCL Technologies, a completed control-stake acquisition for Persistent Systems, a full exit by a marquee global investor in Pine Labs, and a continuing, multi-session stake reduction in Mazda. Taken together, the five names offer a cross-section of the kind of news flow investors are tracking this week: corporate actions unlocking balance-sheet value, large-cap IT deal wins, M&A follow-through, and bulk-deal activity signalling shifts in institutional ownership. Each of these developments carries its own near-term catalyst for the respective stock, and traders are likely to watch opening trade closely for how each name digests the news relative to its recent price action.
