Suzlon Energy secured a sixth repeat 100 MW wind order from GAIL, supporting PSU pipeline growth and Maharashtra expansion.

Mumbai, March 24: Suzlon Energy Limited has secured its sixth repeat wind energy order of 100 MW from Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL), reinforcing its execution pipeline within the public sector undertaking segment.
The company said in an exchange disclosure that the project will be executed in Nandurbar district, Maharashtra. This marks Suzlon’s fourth PSU order in FY26, following prior engagements with NTPC, BPCL and other state-linked entities.
The scope includes supply of 47 S120 wind turbine generators, each with a rated capacity of 2.1 MW. Suzlon will also undertake equipment installation, project execution, erection and commissioning. Post commissioning operations and maintenance services are part of the contract structure.
According to the company, power generated from the project will support decarbonisation initiatives tied to GAIL’s upcoming petrochemical operations in Maharashtra. The order also reflects Suzlon’s continued positioning in utility-scale renewable deployments backed by government-linked buyers.
Stock Market Snapshot
Suzlon Energy share price traded at ₹40.28, up 0.85% as of 11:20 IST on March 24, 2026, according to exchange data. The stock opened at ₹41.30 and moved within a range of ₹39.95 to ₹41.30 during the session so far.
The Suzlon Energy share price reaction remained measured, indicating that while the order reinforces business visibility, the market may have partially factored in PSU-led order inflows. The repeat nature of the contract with GAIL signals client stickiness and execution consistency, which tends to support medium-term order book confidence.
Installed Capacity And Regional Presence Provide Scale Advantage
Suzlon reported over 2.2 GW of installed capacity in Maharashtra, alongside an estimated market share of around 38% in the state. The company has built a strong footprint across key renewable corridors including Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
Its S120 turbine platform is designed for low wind regimes and is widely deployed across utility-scale projects. The company’s integrated model spanning manufacturing, installation and lifecycle services allows tighter control over execution timelines and cost structures.
Management commentary highlighted that PSU and commercial and industrial segments together account for over 64% of Suzlon’s order book, reflecting a strategic shift towards stable counterparties and long-term contracts.
Repeat Order Signals Long-Term Client Alignment
The sixth repeat order from GAIL underscores a long-standing relationship spanning over 15 years, as per company statements. The latest contract also marks Suzlon’s entry into Maharashtra for this specific client engagement.
While the order size remains consistent with prior engagements, the geographic diversification and PSU alignment enhance revenue visibility and strengthen Suzlon’s positioning in India’s renewable transition framework.
