Top 3 gainers & losers at Nifty 50 today

Top 3 gainers at Nifty 50 today were L&T, Sun Pharma and Tata Consumer Products.

 L&T’s stock gained 4.68% today after its June quarter profit increased by 30% to Rs 3,617 crore. Sun Pharma’s stock gained 1.51%, ahead of its June quarter result.

Tata Consumer Products’ stock gained 1.36% today. The company’s stock is seeing forward momentum since its June quarter result came a week ago. Tata Consumer’s stock has gained 16.92% year-to-date in 2025.

 Top 3 losers

 Top 3 losers at Nifty 50 today were Tata Motors, Hero Motors and Power Grid.

Tata Motors’ stock lost 3.52% today. This, after reports came that the company may acquire truck business of Iveco Group of Italy for $4.5 billion. Given the high failure rate of mergers & acquisitions in creating value for shareholders, many investors look at them unfavorably. This caused the stock to see selling pressure today.

Hero Motors’ stock lost 1.95% today due to some short term profit booking.

Power Grid’s stock lost 1.06% today. The stock saw a sharp decline in the last half an hour of trading. This, after its June quarter result came. The company’s consolidated net profit declined by 2.5% in the June quarter to Rs 3,630.58 crore.
