Why Volume Gainers Matter
A sudden jump in volume usually means that a stock is attracting much more attention than it normally does. This can happen because of buying interest, selling pressure, company developments or other market activity. The direction of the price is equally important, as higher volume can accompany either gains or declines. Comparing today’s volume with the stock’s normal average helps investors understand just how unusual the activity is.
Conclusion
The volume-gainer list on September 3 showed a noticeable increase in trading activity across the five stocks highlighted. Bajaj Finserv Mutual Fund-Bajaj Finserv Nifty 50 ETF recorded the largest increase over its 1-week average, while GOCL Corporation Ltd, Hikal Ltd and BF Utilities Ltd combined higher volumes with strong gains. R&B Denims Ltd was the only stock among the top five to trade lower. The data points to heightened market interest, although volume alone does not indicate where a stock may move next.
