Mumbai August, 28: Acutaas Chemicals Limited’s step-down subsidiary Indischem Inc. has inaugurated a semiconductor materials manufacturing plant in Gongju, Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea, marking the company’s entry into local production and refining of specialised materials for semiconductor applications.
According to the company’s exchange disclosure, the facility was commissioned after 11 months of construction following the groundbreaking ceremony held on September 29, 2025. The plant will synthesise speciality chemicals in India and refine, test and qualify them to semiconductor-grade standards in South Korea.
The facility spans 16,513.7 square metres across three buildings, comprising a main production block, combined headquarters and research and development pilot plant, warehouse and additional land reserved for future expansion.
Indischem is a step-down subsidiary of Acutaas Chemicals through Acutaas Advance Material Limited, with J & J Materials Co. Ltd. as the other partner. Acutaas Advance Material Limited holds a 75% stake in Indischem, while J & J Materials holds the remaining 25%.

Company Expands Into High-Purity Semiconductor Materials
Indischem was incorporated in South Korea in 2025 as a joint venture between Acutaas Advance Material Limited and J & J Materials Co. Ltd. The company is headquartered at Dongtan, Gyeonggi-do, positioning it close to South Korea’s semiconductor and display manufacturing clusters.
The business is focused on specialty chemicals used in semiconductor and display manufacturing, including materials requiring parts-per-billion purity levels. Acutaas Chemicals said the model is intended to create a more geographically diversified supply chain for semiconductor materials.
Acutaas Chemicals, formerly Ami Organics Limited, manufactures speciality chemicals and advanced intermediates for pharmaceutical, semiconductor, battery chemicals, personal care, agrochemical and fine chemical applications. Its portfolio also includes materials for emerging areas such as semiconductor and next-generation electronic applications.
The company said the Gongju facility is expected to create operational and technological synergies between its Indian synthesis capabilities and South Korean refining expertise.
Conclusion
The inauguration of Indischem’s Gongju plant marks a new manufacturing step for Acutaas Chemicals in the semiconductor materials segment, with the facility positioned to supply high-purity materials closer to customers in South Korea.
