Mumbai, October 17: Adani Power Limited share price is on the rise today, on October 17. As of 10:32 AM, the shares are up by 3.21%, or 5.05 points and are trading at ₹162.42. Until now, the shares have traded within a range of ₹164.88 and ₹156.77. The current traded volume stands at 5.18 crore shares, with the company’s market cap at ₹3,03,483 crore. The shares have their 52-week high at ₹182.70 and their 52-week low at ₹86.40.

Adani Power Limited is an Indian company that is engaged in producing thermal power. was established in 1996, headquartered in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Its NSE ticker symbol is ADANIPOWER while the BSE code is 533096.

Key Trigger: Incorporation of 570 MW Joint Venture Company in Bhutan

The rise in the share price comes after the company announced the incorporation of a joint venture company (JVC) in Bhutan with Druk Green Power Corporation Ltd (DGPC). The JV is to develop a 570 MW hydroelectric project at Wangchhu. As a result of the JV, a new entity named Wangchhu Hydroelectric Power Limited (WHPL), was officially incorporated on October 15, 2025. This comes following the shareholders’ agreement signed between Adani Power and DGPC in September 2025.

The ownership of the JV is split between Adani Power (49%) and DGPC (51%). The initial paid-up capital is BTN 1 billion, and Adani Power has contributed BTN 490 million and DGPC BTN 510 million. The company has not started its operations yet.

Expansion of Footprint in Cross-border Clean Power Generation

This joint venture in Bhutan will help Adani Power in strengthening its goals in regional renewable energy. It will also help in expanding its presence in cross-border clean power generation.
