Mumbai, August 05: Retail investors continued to back the Aegeus Technologies IPO on the second day of bidding, taking their reserved portion past the fully subscribed mark. Even so, the overall response remained muted, with institutional investors yet to enter the issue in a meaningful way.

Exchange data available at 11:09 AM showed the ₹23.71 crore BSE SME IPO subscribed 0.62 times. Investors had bid for 8.44 lakh shares against the 13.61 lakh shares available for subscription, excluding the market maker portion.

With one more day of bidding left, the focus now shifts to whether demand from qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) and high-net-worth investors gathers pace before subscriptions close on August 6.

Retail Continues To Lead Demand

Retail investors remained the strongest pillar of the IPO on Day 2, subscribing their quota 1.07 times. Demand also improved in the non-institutional investor (NII) category, although it was still short of full subscription at 0.42 times.

The QIB portion, meanwhile, had not received any bids at the time of the latest update. That is not uncommon in IPOs, particularly SME issues, as institutional investors often place their bids closer to the final day.

Category Subscription
QIB (Ex Anchor) 0.00x
NII 0.42x
• bNII 0.25x
• sNII 0.77x
Retail 1.07x
Overall 0.62x

Subscription Improves From Opening Day

The IPO has attracted more interest than it did on the opening day, although the pace remains measured.

Day Overall Subscription
Day 1 0.38x
Day 2 (11:09 AM) 0.62x

Historically, a large share of IPO applications arrives during the final trading session, making the last day particularly important for overall subscription figures.

Conclusion
