Asian markets begin the day in green as US military strike on Iran looms

US equity markets ended the day in red, yesterday, 13th January, 2026. Nasdaq ended the day, down by 24.03 points or 0.10%. Dow Jones ended the day, down by 398.21 points or 0.80%. S&P 500 ended the day, down by 13.53 points or 0.19%. US inflation rate in December stood at 2.7%. The inflation rate remained unchanged from the previous month.
US President Donald Trump asked Iranian protestors to take over government institutions, as US help is coming. Oil prices may increase further after this statement of President Trump.
European markets ended the day more on a flat note, yesterday. Euro Stoxx 50 ended the day, yesterday, up by 13.53 points or 0.22%. Dax ended the day, up by 15.32 points or 0.060%. FTSE 100 ended the day, down by 3.35 points or 0.033%.

Asian markets have started the day in green today. Nikkei 225 is again rising today. At 9:10 a.m. IST, 14th January, 2026, Nikkei 225 is up by 864.76 points or 1.61%. Hang Seng is up by 228.43 points or 0.85%. Kospi is up by 6.29 points or 0.13%. Shanghai composite is up by 49.48 points or 1.20%.
Indian equity markets may see another mixed day today. Investor sentiments will remain cautious. Geopolitical risk has increased with US strikes on Iran looking more imminent at this moment. Shares of oil & gas companies may see further price movement today.
