Bengaluru, October 23: Bharat Electronics Limited’s share price is on the rise today, after the company announced that it has secured a ₹633 Crore Defence Order from Cochin Shipyard. As of 9:50 AM, the shares of the company were up by 0.78%, or 3.25 points, and were trading at ₹420.95. Until now, the shares have traded within a range of ₹422.50 and ₹418.30. The traded volume stood at 63.83 lakh shares, with the company’s market cap at ₹3,05,329 crore. The shares have their 52-week high at ₹436 and their 52-week low at ₹240.25.

Bharat Electronics Limited is an Indian ‘Navratna’ Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) operating under the Ministry of Defence. It manufactures advanced defence electronic products. The company was established in 1954 and is headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The shares of the company are listed on NSE with the ticker symbol BEL and on BSE with the code 500049.

₹633 Crore Defence Order from Cochin Shipyard

The rise in the share price comes after the company announced that it has secured a ₹633 Crore Defence Order from Cochin Shipyard. Under the order, BEL is required to supply advanced defence systems and electronic equipment to Cochin Shipyard Limited. The significant order will include the supply of cover sensors, weapon systems, fire control systems, and communication equipment. BEL will develop and manufacture all these products indigenously. These products will help in enhancing the Indian Navy’s maritime surveillance capabilities and combat readiness.

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) shares have provided significant returns to investors over the years. The stock has jumped over 1,000% in the past decade.
