Mumbai July, 23: Bondada Engineering Ltd. has crossed another milestone in its renewable energy portfolio after receiving approval from the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) to energise a 300 MW grid-connected solar power project at Khavda, Gujarat.

The project is being executed by Bondada on an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis for NLC India Renewables Ltd. According to the company’s exchange filing, the approval clears the way for the plant to begin feeding electricity into the grid.

For EPC contractors, such approvals represent an important transition from construction to commissioning. They indicate that the project has met the technical and regulatory requirements necessary for energisation before commercial operations.

The Khavda project, once energised, will contribute 300 MW of renewable power to the national grid.

Milestone Strengthens Execution Track Record

Unlike a fresh order announcement, the latest disclosure reflects progress on an existing project already under execution.

The company said the approval marks a significant operational milestone and highlights its ability to deliver utility-scale renewable energy projects for central public sector enterprises. As large solar parks move through construction, achieving regulatory clearances on schedule is often viewed as a key indicator of execution capability.

The Khavda renewable energy zone has emerged as one of India’s largest clean energy hubs, with multiple public and private developers building large-scale solar and wind capacity. Bondada’s project for NLC India Renewables forms part of this broader expansion.

Stock Market Snapshot

Bondada Engineering share price was trading at ₹305.25 as of 11:39 AM IST on July 23.

The stock traded lower during the session despite the operational update, suggesting investors largely viewed the announcement as a project execution milestone rather than a fresh order win.

Company Background

Bondada Engineering provides EPC services across telecom infrastructure, renewable energy and utility projects. In recent quarters, the company has expanded its presence in the clean energy sector by securing and executing utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects for government-backed and private sector clients.

Conclusion

The CEA approval does not add to Bondada’s order book, but it moves an existing project into its next phase. With regulatory clearance now in place, the focus shifts to energisation and commissioning of the 300 MW solar plant, reinforcing the company’s execution credentials in India’s fast-growing renewable energy sector.
