Mumbai, May 27: Cummins India reported its strongest-ever financial performance for FY26, driven by sustained demand across domestic markets, improved operating leverage and healthy profitability growth.

The Board approved audited results for the year ended March 31, 2026, showing total sales of ₹11,950 crore, an increase of 18% from the previous year. Domestic sales, which remain the company’s primary growth engine, rose 19% to ₹9,961 crore, while export revenue climbed 12% to ₹1,989 crore.

Profitability expanded at an even faster pace. Profit before tax, excluding exceptional items, increased 24% to ₹3,104 crore, with margins improving to 26%. Profit after tax rose 22% to ₹2,330 crore.

The numbers underline a year in which Cummins successfully capitalised on strong industrial activity, infrastructure spending and continued investments across key sectors of the economy.

Stock Market Snapshot

Investors responded enthusiastically to the results.

Cummins India share price surged after the announcement, touching a fresh 52-week high of ₹6,099 during the session.

As of 3:30 PM IST on May 27, 2026, the stock was trading at ₹6,069, up ₹650.50 or 12.01% from its previous close of ₹5,418.50.

The move made Cummins India one of the strongest performers in the industrial and capital goods space during the session.

While annual numbers were impressive, the March quarter itself also delivered healthy growth. Revenue for the quarter rose 23% year-on-year to ₹2,963 crore, supported largely by domestic demand. Quarterly profit before tax increased 20% to ₹820 crore, while profit after tax reached ₹650 crore.

The sharp rally suggests investors were encouraged not only by the headline growth figures but also by the company’s ability to maintain margins despite a challenging global backdrop.

Management Sees Demand Staying Resilient

Managing Director Shveta Arya said the company concluded FY26 with record revenue and profitability, reflecting the strength of its operating model and customer demand across domestic and export markets.

Management noted that India’s economic environment continues to remain supportive, backed by ongoing investments, government-led infrastructure spending and healthy activity levels across industries.

Although global geopolitical developments and commodity price volatility remain areas to watch, the company expects domestic demand to stay firm.

The management commentary struck a confident tone. Rather than focusing on short-term uncertainties, the company emphasised execution, cost discipline, supply-chain resilience and long-term value creation.

A Manufacturing Powerhouse With Deep Roots In India

Founded more than six decades ago, Cummins India has evolved into one of the country’s leading power solutions companies.

The Pune-headquartered firm manufactures engines, power generation systems and related technologies serving sectors ranging from construction and mining to infrastructure, manufacturing and energy.

Its nationwide network spans more than 480 customer touchpoints, supported by five manufacturing facilities and extensive assembly and distribution infrastructure.

The company’s close integration with the global Cummins network has enabled it to serve both domestic and export markets while benefiting from technology transfer, operational scale and international demand opportunities.

Conclusion

Cummins India’s FY26 results delivered exactly what investors wanted to see: strong revenue growth, expanding margins and record profitability.

More importantly, the performance suggests that demand across core industrial and infrastructure-linked sectors remains healthy despite broader global uncertainties.

The market’s reaction was swift. With the stock climbing more than 12% and touching a new 52-week high, investors appeared to view the results as confirmation that Cummins India remains one of the strongest earnings stories in the industrial manufacturing space.
