Mumbai, July 1:Evans Electric Ltd. has won a ₹1.61 crore works contract from Tata Power Co. Ltd. for repair work at the Bhivpuri Generating Station, according to an exchange filing.

The order covers Unit-10 hydro generator stator winding repair works, a specialised maintenance activity aimed at restoring the performance and reliability of power generation equipment.

The contract, valued at ₹1,60,50,000, is to be executed over the next 1.5 months. The company said the order has been awarded by a domestic entity and falls within its regular line of business.

Evans Electric also clarified that neither its promoters nor promoter group entities have any interest in Tata Power and that the contract is not a related-party transaction.

While the value of the order is modest, projects involving power generation equipment typically require technical expertise and timely execution, making them important additions to a company’s service portfolio.

Stock Market Snapshot

The announcement coincided with strong buying interest in the stock.

As of 1:16 PM IST on July 1, the Evans Electric share price was trading at ₹66.69, up sharply from the previous trading levels after the company disclosed the order win.

Order announcements are closely followed for smaller engineering companies, particularly when they come from established utility operators such as Tata Power, as they reflect continued demand for specialised maintenance and engineering services.

About The Company

Evans Electric provides engineering and electrical contracting services, undertaking installation, maintenance and repair projects for industrial and power sector clients. Its work includes electrical infrastructure, equipment servicing and specialised repair assignments across utility and industrial facilities.

The latest contract adds another power-sector project to the company’s execution pipeline and reinforces its presence in maintenance services for critical generation assets.

Conclusion

The Tata Power order is not transformational in size, but it represents another project from a leading private power producer and adds to Evans Electric’s ongoing order book. The market will now watch the execution of the contract and whether the company is able to convert similar opportunities into a steadier flow of business from the power sector.
