Mumbai, September 16: Exide Industries Limited has entered into a long-term strategic cooperation agreement with Germany-based ExCom Energy Solutions GmbH to jointly develop and expand its industrial battery business across the European Economic Area.

According to the exchange filing dated September 16, 2026, the agreement was signed on September 15 between Exide Industries and ExCom Energy Solutions GmbH.

The partnership will focus on the marketing and sale of industrial battery and energy storage products across the European Economic Area under the ExCom brand. The initial focus will be on traction batteries for motive-power applications and stationary energy storage systems.

ExCom will act as the central commercial and technical interface for customers in the region. Its responsibilities will include customer development, distribution, technical project support and after-sales coordination.

The companies plan to combine Exide India’s manufacturing capabilities and battery technology portfolio with ExCom’s European market presence, application engineering expertise and local customer support.

The agreement is expected to support Exide Industries’ efforts to expand its industrial battery business in Europe.

Exide said the European Economic Area represents an important market for its industrial energy storage operations, with demand for dependable, efficient and sustainable energy solutions.

The company’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Avik Roy, said the partnership would combine Exide India’s manufacturing scale and product expertise with ExCom’s market access and local execution capabilities.

ExCom Managing Director Holger Aschke said the cooperation would create a platform to serve European customers with competitive and application-specific energy solutions.
