Gift Nifty Signals Muted Start for the Indian Stock Market Today

Mumbai, November 6: The Indian stock market and all the included indices are expected to open on a muted note today, on November 6. The muted start is indicated by Gift Nifty which is trading at lower by 0.25%, or 64 points, and is trading at 25,731. Until now, the index has traded within a range of 25,799 and 25,720.50.

Sensex and Nifty Closed Lower on November 4

On November 4, both Sensex and Nifty ended lower. Sensex closed at 83,459.15, down by 0.62%, or 519.34 points. Nifty also declined and ended 0.64%, or 165.70 points lower at 25,598.65.

FIIs Net Sellers While DIIs Net Buyers

On November 4, Foreign Institutional Investors ended the trading session as net sellers. They sold Indian equities worth ₹1,067.10 crore net. On the other hand, Domestic Institutional Investors provided some support and bought Indian equities worth ₹1,202.90 crore net.

Highlights of Global Market Signals

Asian markets have opened their day higher today. Overnight, US markets ended on a positive note after stronger-than-expected US economic data. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.48%, the S&P 500 rose 0.37%, and the Nasdaq Composite jumped 0.65% overnight.

However, the dollar index fell slightly from its multi-months high. The US 10-year Treasury yields fell by one basis point to 4.14%. Crude oil prices gained marginally after two days of decline. Furthermore, gold prices also gained slightly after their biggest gain in a week.

Muted Opening Expected Today

As indicated by Gift Nifty and mixed global and commodity signals, the Indian stock market is expected to open on a muted note today. The indices may experience volatility throughout the trading session today. Investors will be watching Q2 earnings of companies and other intraday factors for trading cues.
