Gift Nifty Signals Positive Start For The Stock Market Today

Mumbai, November 3: The Indian stock market and all the included indices are expected to open on a positive note today, on November 3. The positive opening is indicated by Gift Nifty, which is up by 0.12%, or 30 points, and is trading at 25,854. Until now, the index has traded between 25,870.50 and 25,832.

Sensex and Nifty Closed Lower on October 31

Sensex and Nifty closed in the red on October 31, dragged down by stocks in metals, IT and media. The Sensex fell 465.75 points or 0.55% to 83,938.71, while the Nifty 50 dropped 155.75 points or 0.6% to 25,722.10. Other broader market indices also fell, with the BSE Midcap falling 0.5%, while the BSE Smallcap falling 0.4%.

FIIs Net Sellers While DIIs Net Buyers

On October 31, Domestic Institutional Investors continued their selling and sold Indian equities worth 6,769 crore net. On the other hand,Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) maintained their buying streak for the seventh consecutive session. They bought Indian equities worth ₹7,068 crore net on October 31.

US Markets Closed Higher While Asian Markets Open Mixed

US markets closed higher, supported by strong earnings by tech companies. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.09%, the S&P 500 increased 0.26%, and the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.61%. On the other hand, Asian Markets have opened on a mixed note today. South Korea’s Kospi has risen 2%, but other markets are showing negative investor demand. Japan’s stock market is closed today due to a local holiday.

The U.S. 10-year Treasury yield fell to 4.07%, while the 2-year yield fell to 3.57%. The U.S. dollar index gained, while most Asian currencies fell, led by the Thai Baht and Malaysian Ringgit.

Crude Oil Higher While Gold Prices Fall

In early Asia trade, crude oil prices increased after the decision of OPEC+ to maintain the current levels of output for the first quarter of 2026. However, gold prices fell below $4,000 per ounce. The gold prices were negatively affected by China’s decision to remove some tax rebates for its retailers.

Positive Opening Expected Today

As Indicated by Gift Nifty, and somewhat positive global factors, the Indian stock market is expected to open on a  positive note today. Investors will be watching intraday factors such as Q2 earnings and other commodity related trends for trading cues today.
