Bangalore, July 29: Gold prices in Bangalore remained under pressure on Wednesday, extending losses for a second straight day. While today’s decline was milder than Tuesday’s sharp correction, the market continued to lose ground after last week’s rally fizzled out.

The latest retail rates show 24-karat gold at ₹14,351 per gram, down ₹66 from the previous session. 22-karat gold is priced at ₹13,155 per gram, while 18-karat gold has slipped to ₹10,763 per gram, down ₹50.

After climbing steadily through the third week of July, gold has now given back a large chunk of those gains. The latest pullback has brought prices closer to levels seen before the rally gathered pace, giving buyers another opportunity to enter the market at softer rates.

Bangalore Gold Rate Today

18K Gold ₹10,763 -₹50

Bullion Gives Up Most of Last Week’s Gains

Gold had climbed to ₹14,651 per gram on July 22, supported by firm global prices and strong market sentiment. That upward move, however, proved short-lived.

A steep decline on July 28, followed by another drop today, has pulled the 24K rate down by ₹238 in just two trading sessions. At the current level, gold is trading ₹300 below last week’s high, highlighting how quickly sentiment has shifted.

10-Day Gold Price Trend

July 29: ₹14,351 (-₹66)

July 28: ₹14,417 (-₹172)

July 27: ₹14,589 (+₹96)

July 26: ₹14,493 (No change)

July 25: ₹14,493 (+₹60)

July 21: ₹14,422 (+₹76)

July 20: ₹14,346 (+₹17)

The last 10 trading sessions have been marked by sharp swings rather than a clear trend. After a strong rally lifted prices to a weekly high on July 22, the market struggled to hold those gains. Consecutive declines over the past two sessions have pushed prices back to levels seen before the rally accelerated.

Lowest ₹14,346 (July 20) ₹13,150 (July 20)

Despite several large daily moves, gold has changed very little over the broader 10-day period. The recent correction has erased almost all of last week’s rally, leaving prices only marginally higher than where they stood on July 20.

Why Do Gold Prices Change Every Day?

Gold prices are influenced by a combination of global and domestic factors. International bullion prices, movements in the rupee against the U.S. dollar, import costs and inflation expectations all affect retail gold rates in India.

Interest-rate expectations, central bank purchases, geopolitical tensions and investor demand for safe-haven assets also shape market sentiment. Local taxes and jeweller-specific charges then determine the final price consumers pay.

Conclusion

Gold prices in Bangalore remained on the back foot on July 29, with 24K gold falling to ₹14,351 per gram and 22K gold easing to ₹13,155 per gram. The latest decline extends the correction that began a day earlier and leaves bullion well below last week’s high.

For jewellery buyers, the recent weakness may provide a better buying opportunity than the prices seen during last week’s rally. Investors, meanwhile, are likely to keep an eye on global bullion prices and currency movements for clues on the market’s next direction.
