New Delhi, Sept 25: Indian gold prices have seen a slight increase on Friday after falling for three consecutive sessions. The current national rates for 24 karat gold (99.9% purity) are ₹1,52,840 per 10 grams, 22 karat gold (91.6% purity) stands at ₹1,40,100 per 10 grams and 18 karat gold (75% purity) is at ₹1,14,630 per 10 grams in most cities across the country. Gold rates have increased by about ₹160/10 gm of 24k gold from yesterday’s closing rate of ₹1,52,680. An increase of around 0.10%.  After falling by a total of ₹1,890 per 10 gm over the past three sessions.

Cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kerala, Pune, Vadodara and Ahmedabad have all seen their prices increase by a similar margin for each purity of gold. While Chennai has seen its prices increase by a lesser margin than the rest of India. Chennai prices have been decreasing by a lesser margin throughout the week.

Gold is always considered to be a good investment against Inflation. So, after a volatile week we see Gold increasing today after finding support. Those who wish to buy gold can use our Gold Rate Calculator to find out what your final billing would be at your jeweller by entering the quantity you want to buy. We take into consideration Making Charges, Wastage and GST. Rates shown on this page are the National Average price given by reputed jewellers across India. They may fluctuate throughout the course of the day. Your local Jeweller may sell at slightly higher or lower rates.

The increase in price today was due to people bargain hunting after the past three sessions of profits being booked. Pushing the rates down significantly from where they stood on Monday. With the dollar softening a little and treasury yields not increasing as much over the past few days allowed gold to gain back a little bit of ground. Though the rate of increase today is small compared to how fast prices were changing earlier in the week. Prices in cities have been moving in sync for the past 4 sessions. Chennai continues to decrease at a slower rate than the rest of the country which is slowly bringing it in line with other city prices.

We have seen good demand for gold this week at the counter level. Since festive season is here after the Ganesh Chaturthi. We have seen people buying Coins, light jewellery for day to day and wedding season. Some dealers believe that with prices decreasing over the past three days we may see more buyers come in even if the price increases further today.  Since we are a few weeks away from Navratri and Diwali. There will be more demand in the next two weeks no matter what prices do day by day. Some jewellers have started buying stock in preparation for the festival season.

These are the Daily National Gold Rates that India gets from the respective dealers forum in every city. As mentioned above the prices may change by the time you reach your Jeweller/Bullion dealer. Ask them what they will be selling at when you arrive.

From the above tables we can see that 18k gold price in Chennai has reached Rs.1,17,800 per 10 gm and it has reduced its differential with Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kerala, Pune which is currently trading at Rs.1,14,630. The difference between the two is around Rs.3170 which was Rs.3190 on Thursday. This has continued to decrease its differential slowly as it was very high this week. 18k gold price in Delhi stands at Rs.1,14,780 which is around Rs.150 higher than Mumbai. This small differential has been consistent throughout this week. Dealers believe that the market has followed the trend of last 4 sessions which has seen almost equal movement in every city. We will have to wait and see how the market behaves this weekend but if central banks come out with dovish comments then this rally will continue and may see a fall next week.

International Cues Behind Friday’s Rebound

Overnight moves in global bullion markets set the stage for Friday’s steadier session, dealers said, with spot gold prices internationally finding some support after three days of retreat as bargain hunters stepped in at lower levels. A slightly softer US dollar and a pause in the recent climb in Treasury yields gave the metal room to recover, analysts noted, though the scale of Friday’s move remained modest compared with the sharp swings seen earlier in the week. Traders said the market will be watching closely for fresh triggers heading into the weekend, with any dovish signal from major central banks likely to extend the recovery, while renewed dollar strength could tip prices back into a decline next week.

Jewellery Stocks Today

Jewellery stocks were mostly higher on Friday morning, a reversal from Thursday’s mixed session, even as gold itself posted only a modest gain. Thangamayil Jewellery led the pack with a sharp 1.46% rise, followed by Kalyan Jewellers India, up 0.23%, and PC Jeweller, up a marginal 0.14%. Titan Company was the lone decliner among the four counters, slipping 0.11%. Trading was still underway at the time of writing.

PC Jeweller opened at ₹14.61, above its previous close of ₹14.47, touched a high of ₹14.65 and a low of ₹14.13 through the session, before settling near ₹14.27, up a marginal 0.14%. Titan Company opened at ₹4,868.00, below its previous close of ₹4,880.00, rallied to a high of ₹4,892.50, then eased back to a low of ₹4,859.50 before settling near ₹4,827.00, down 0.11%, the session’s lone decliner. Kalyan Jewellers India opened at ₹574.60, just above its previous close of ₹573.60, climbed to a high of ₹579.10, then eased back through the session to settle around ₹574.90, still comfortably above its intraday low of ₹570.80. Thangamayil Jewellery opened at ₹5,179.50, sharply above its previous close of ₹5,097.00, touched a high of ₹5,210.00, then eased to a low of ₹5,111.50 before settling near ₹5,171.50, up a strong 1.46% and the standout performer of the morning.

Market watchers said Friday’s mostly positive session among jewellery counters, coming right after Thursday’s mixed trade, reinforces the view that the sector continues to trade largely on its own stock-specific momentum rather than in lockstep with bullion prices. Dealers pointed to Thangamayil’s sharp 1.46% advance as the standout move of the morning, a strong reversal from its steep decline a day earlier, while Titan’s mild pullback stood out as the one soft spot in an otherwise firmer session. Analysts said the continued divergence between a steadying gold market and a choppy jewellery sector suggests individual stock catalysts remain the dominant driver of sentiment heading into the weekend, with bullion prices playing a secondary role for now. With three of the four counters ending higher, some traders said the sector could be poised for a stronger festive-season run if gold prices continue to stabilise in the sessions ahead.
