Kalyan Jewellers India was the strongest gainer, rising ₹19.95 or 3.56 per cent to ₹579.95 from Thursday’s close of ₹560.00. That follows a 5.85 per cent gain on Thursday, and over the two sessions it is up ₹50.90 or 9.62 per cent from Wednesday’s ₹529.05. The order book is nearly balanced, with 50.37 per cent buy quantity against 49.63 per cent sell, almost unchanged from Thursday’s 50.57 per cent buy.

Titan Company opened at ₹4,799.90, 0.7 per cent below the previous close of ₹4,834.60, and fell to a low of ₹4,694.40, 2.90 per cent under that close. It then recovered to a high of ₹4,978.00 and is trading at ₹4,947.80, up ₹113.20 or 2.34 per cent, above its volume-weighted average price (VWAP) of ₹4,880.17. Thursday’s close was 1.69 per cent above Wednesday’s ₹4,754.40, so the stock is up 4.07 per cent in two sessions. Sellers hold the edge in the order book with 57.96 per cent of the quantity, against 59.97 per cent on Thursday.

PC Jeweller fell ₹0.12 or 0.77 per cent to ₹15.44 from ₹15.56. It opened at ₹15.50, touched a low of ₹15.21 and a high of ₹15.72, then eased back below its VWAP of ₹15.47. The stock was up 1.52 per cent in early trade on Thursday but closed 1.64 per cent lower than Wednesday’s ₹15.82, and it is now 2.40 per cent below that level. Sellers lead the order book at 53.31 per cent, down from 67.38 per cent on Thursday.

Thangamayil Jewellery was the weakest, falling ₹81.20 or 1.87 per cent to ₹4,254.30 from ₹4,335.50. It opened at ₹4,337.50, touched a high of ₹4,376.70 and then slid steadily to a low of ₹4,250.70, ₹3.60 below the current price. It trades below its VWAP of ₹4,307.57. The stock had jumped 3.80 per cent in early trade on Thursday but closed only 1.16 per cent higher, and today’s fall takes it ₹31.60 or 0.74 per cent below Wednesday’s ₹4,285.90. Sellers lead the order book at 60.05 per cent, a reversal from Thursday’s slim buyer edge of 50.78 per cent.

Gold is unchanged on the day after three straight gains, and the jewellery counters have split. Kalyan Jewellers India and Titan Company beat the Nifty 50’s 0.38 per cent gain, while PC Jeweller and Thangamayil Jewellery fell against a rising index. On Thursday all four had gained, with Thangamayil and Kalyan beating the Nifty 50’s 1.78 per cent early gain.

With the metal flat, the stock moves appear to owe little to the gold rate itself. The NSE has scheduled Muhurat Trading for Sunday, November 8, on account of Diwali Laxmi Pujan.
