Mumbai, May 21: Grasim Industries led the Nifty 50 gainers chart on Thursday, surging 6.43% on the back of a strong Q4 FY26 earnings beat that sent investors rushing into the Aditya Birla Group diversified conglomerate, even as broader indices gave up their morning gains by midday.

IndiGo, Apollo Hospitals, Bajaj Auto, Trent and BEL also featured among the session’s top index gainers, with stocks rising between 1.65% and 3.17% as institutional money rotated into earnings-driven names, aviation and defence counters amid a market that remained broadly range-bound on lingering US-Iran peace deal uncertainty.

Grasim Industries: Top Gainer

Grasim Industries (GRASIM) topped the Nifty 50 gainers chart on Thursday, surging 6.43% to an LTP of ₹3,162 from its previous close of ₹2,971.10 on the National Stock Exchange. The stock opened at ₹3,060.70, scaled a session high of ₹3,180, and held a low of ₹3,021 a powerful, sustained advance underpinned by the company’s Q4 FY26 consolidated results, which showed revenue of ₹51,101 crore, EBITDA of ₹8,011 crore and an adjusted PAT of ₹2,041 crore all significantly ahead of year-ago levels. Over 44.17 lakh shares worth approximately ₹1,379.46 crore changed hands, making it one of the most heavily traded counters among the day’s gainers. The board also recommended a dividend of ₹10 per equity share for FY26, further boosting investor sentiment toward the stock.

Grasim Industries

IndiGo

IndiGo (INDIGO) was the second-biggest Nifty 50 gainer on Thursday, rising 3.17% to an LTP of ₹4,400 from its previous close of ₹4,264.60. The stock opened at ₹4,305, touched a session high of ₹4,452.20, and held a low of ₹4,305, with over 16.56 lakh shares worth approximately ₹730.19 crore traded. IndiGo’s strong showing reflected improving aviation sentiment with Trump’s temporary pause on Iran strikes easing fears of a further escalation that would have kept jet fuel costs elevated and West Asian routes disrupted giving India’s dominant airline a meaningful operational tailwind through the session.

Indigo

Apollo Hospitals

Apollo Hospitals (APOLLOHOSP) gained 3.11% to ₹8,330 from its previous close of ₹8,078.50, opening at ₹8,198.50 and touching a session high of ₹8,388 with a low of ₹8,051.50. Over 14.25 lakh shares worth ₹1,176.28 crore were traded as the healthcare major attracted strong buying interest, riding the broader defensive rotation into healthcare that has been a consistent theme through the week as investors sought insulation from geopolitical and macro volatility.

Apollo Hospitals

Bajaj Auto

Bajaj Auto (BAJAJ-AUTO) advanced 1.79% to ₹10,650 from a previous close of ₹10,462.50, opening at ₹10,544.50 and touching a high of ₹10,735 with a low of ₹10,493.50, with approximately 5.23 lakh shares worth ₹556.74 crore traded. The two-wheeler major extended its gains from Wednesday’s session as improving rural demand sentiment and easing input cost concerns continued to underpin the counter.

Bajaj Auto

Trent

Trent (TRENT) rose 1.78% to ₹4,172.90 from its previous close of ₹4,099.90, opening at ₹4,135 and scaling a high of ₹4,190.90 with a session low of ₹4,052. Over 7.48 lakh shares worth ₹309.54 crore were traded as the Tata Group retail major continued to attract domestic institutional support, with its expanding Zudio store network and sustained urban consumption demand keeping the long-term growth narrative firmly intact.

Trent

BEL

BEL (BEL) rounded out the top six Nifty 50 gainers, rising 1.65% to ₹420.10 from its previous close of ₹413.30. The stock opened at ₹420, hit a high of ₹426.10, and recorded a low of ₹418.05, with over 1.97 crore shares worth ₹833.94 crore traded the highest volume by shares among the day’s top gainers. BEL’s continued presence on the gainers board for a second consecutive session reflects the sustained institutional appetite for defence electronics names amid an unresolved West Asia conflict that keeps India’s defence indigenisation imperative firmly in the spotlight.
